So much for him being in the starting 11

Although the loan isn't surprising its strange that Shakey wanted him in the team end of last season, but then gave him zero mins in pre season and loaned him out as soon as he could.

Just being in our squad is no good he needs to play

He isn't ready YET for our first team so let him go and learn his trade in a team where he gets competitive game time

Shaky would have played him at all he end of last season because there was nothing to lose and he wasn't sure what he was capable of. Preseason has obviously convinced him he is going to be very ( hence the new contract ) but he is not ready yet for Premier League football

Struggling to see why people can't grasp the concept

It's just frustrating as every level he's played he's instantly scored goals and there's a feeling had he been thrown in he'd probably have done it in the PL as crazy as it sounds. Got no issue with him being loaned out but why he did t give him any minutes in pre-season is bizarre.

Ideal loan really , a step up from last seasons loan at Mk and as previously said they looked after Matty well . The question you've  got to really ask  is what  will help him improve the most,  u23 football with perhaps the odd cup appearance as a sub,  or a full season playing against men in the championship week in week out. I think we only need to look at how Lawrence has improved to answer that . Also with how  some of our fans completely lose their  shit over some of our  first teamers  if they have a bad game I hate to see the melt down if he had a couple of iffy games

saw a fair few MK Dons fans say as good as he was for them, he wasn't ready for the PL yet, still had a few things to work on

Especially as he gave minutes to Elliot Moore, Callum Elder, Laytron Ndukwu and Darnell Johnson in pre season.

Even more bizarre that he took Barnes all the way to Hong Kong, and didn`t even give him one minutes game time.

Why drag the lad all the way out there?

Then when he gets back they ship him out with the kids to play two 50 minute games in France, instead of giving him a chance in the pre season games!

This looks like the perfect loan for him. Will hopefully get to start regularity and we will see him progress from his  good performances with MK Dons. If he can cut it in the Championship and score goals then he's a step closer to our team squad.

Being with the squad is being given a chance.

Training daily with 1st team and deciding he isn't ready.
