Adrien Silva - Terms Agreed

Having read the lot, it does seem far more complicated than just a case of "you signed the contract, you must pay", he'd trained and played with them in a friendly, which Sporting argued was activation of the contract. Nice also mucked the player about by not paying him, forcing him to cancel his contract with them. Sounds very much like it could have all been avoided and there were chances missed to a) actually get a successful appeal against the late filing of the papers (You can actually file late, so long as it's not "unduly" late and there is a reason why that was), and b) they could have avoided executing the contract with Sporting.

Who cares? Go and make some crumpets

They do hype up players in Portugal a bit. After all, Slimani has struggled to make the impact we'd hoped for and he seems built for the Premier League.

I blame our defensive mind set Last season, for any of Slimanis drawbacks, not forgetting he often got on the score sheet.

If CS plays 3 midfielders  Slimani will get goals.Though it depends who gets the nod partnering Vardy from Kick-off.

Iberro, Silva, Ndidi.  Iberro James Ndidi, Silva James Iberro. All permatations seem good too me, and with this idea

King as cover, would do a good job.

It's little wonder that he said what he said. It's not a compliment to Adrien, it's a dis on William, who stayed at SCP (so far) and is always a subject of debate on his merits against porto's Danilo Pereira, whom benfica and porto supporters rate higher than William, but Sporting fans and people with eyes do the opposite.

Adrien is a great box to box, stronger on defensive work than offensive creativity, but still quite good in attack. He runs A LOT. He's always pressuring the ball carrier, and you'll see him up front side by side with the attackers and back near the box with the defenders. He has good ball control, but his strength  is in deciding quickly whether to pass or drible. If he has the freedom to show up near the opponent's area, he's a pretty decent shot on goal, with more power than precision, but enough on both, but he's not a goal scorer. A lot of his goals for Sporting were from the penalty spot, which he takes very well.

From that description he seems tailored made for our quick counter attacking game. If this works out we might nab an Europa league spot.

Still, with the Silva - Slimani partnership now rejuvenated, we could see the best of both. :fc:

This team is stronger individually, but individuality doesn't win you a title nor does it make you the better team.

What an odd thing to say. How much have you seen of Dragovic, Iborra and Silva to make that statement? Do you not remember how immense Huth and Morgan were? Or how DD and Kanté were the best midfield in the league?
