How did Iheanacho do when he came on?

Didn't really have the opportunity to do a lot really. A couple of nice touches, a partnership with Vardy would be decent if they had more time. However was hobbling with his toe injury towards the end a little

Shouldn't really criticise Schmeical too much, he doesn't make too many errors.

I thought Gray really started to grow into the match. He seems to be maturing well and put in a shift. Mahrez not so much except for occasional flashes. Gave the ball away a lot. Good shift from Morgan, though perhaps might have done better for their first. Ndidi playing well.

Considering the dire predictions beforehand here I don't think they did badly, but a point would have been nice.

It's quite amusing those who air a negative view can be labelled "twats", opinions n' all, but anyone who comes away from that game yesterday content I would like to know why?

There was nothing "quality" about Chelsea's performance, they were average, they didn't put us under pressure like united did, and ultimately their back four was there for the taking...

We were frankly pathetic in the final third today, play like that against even Huddersfield and we will come away with nothing.

I do apologise if some of us "fans" are pissed off with where we are, but accepting regression when there is no excuse to have even gone backwards baffles me.... since winning the league (apart from a spirited champions league run) we have regressed.... and it's got nothing to do with anyone but ourselves... we've essentially won the jackpot on the euro millions and spaffed it all in one night at the casino.

We are argubally still operating with a small club mentality, and he may be a nice bloke and a decent coach but Shakespeare is not a premier league manager, under his stewardship we will not finish anywhere near the top ten let alone top six. This excuse of "we're only Leicester" is a poor one, a very poor one... it's only Leicester went and won the league, and since then it's been a poison chalice.

I'm convinced that, on here (and it's been the same situation for years), that any comments that can be construed as 'negative' are seen by some as being disloyal to the club. It's a football forum and all we are doing is discussing the pros and cons of the team, players etc. Its like a juvenile attitude of 'you can't say anything bad about the club, cos if you do you ain't a fan'.

These are the same boys, I guess, who are convinced that 'singing up for the lads' will make us win.

It'll help, but if we play craply, we play craply.

I'm feeling very negative this morning. The Silva thing had irritated me but then I watched our CM go sideways and back yesterday and it was like arrrrggggh! Not poor but just no drive forward.

Is there going to be any point turning up to watch us against the top six at home this season or can I book a weekend away now and then.

Whilst you're right about some, for me it isn't that - it's when it appears that it's auto-negativity, rather than constructively critical. I think you'd be hard pressed to deny that some posters have their whipping boys, and no evidence to the contrary will change their mind. Also, enough of the harshest critics are so very absolute in their condemnation as to stifle proper discussion anyway. So, often it's not what is said, so much as how it is said.

On the bright side,  Iborra, Silva and N'Didi will be deadly when it all comes together!

Dragovic and Huth will be solid and Nacho and Vardy will boss it up front!

Injuries and Fifa are holding us back unfortunately. Fifa hate us after winning the league with no money. It's against all their current philosophies and ethics.

No point at all.  We approach these games with damage limitation in mind.

I'm getting fed up of us playing for a point against the big boys. I get it away from home, we'd get murdered trying to out play them but at home... get in their faces! Get stuck in! We seemed so content on just letting them pass around us. Ok fine so let's counter when we have the opportunity... so we stick Slimani in?! He's better when we are always high up the pitch whipping balls in, not playing counter attack. Shakespeare said Slimani played for tactical reasons... I'd love to know what the plan was. People slaughter Okazaki but he's scored 2 in 3 and busts a gut to help out going backwards and forwards.

I am probably wrong but I'm also getting the impression Shakespeare wants to 'tinker' to show he's his own man and got lots of ideas and be able to say 'That was my great idea, I am cut out to be a manager'. Yesterday I'm not sure what the plan was...

Again I'm pretty happy with our performance even if the result is another bad one.

Vardy, Ndidi, Maguire and Morgan were excellent and no-one was really bad.

I think Mahrez was the poorest player on the pitch for us but not for effort, he certainly had the ball a lot he just couldn't do anything with it yesterday.

I question having 4 at the back and just the 2 central midfield players as I have every game this season. Both Ndidi and James played well but against teams like Chelsea, Manure, Arse we need 3 in the middle if only to have the players to close down their long range shooters and passers. We certainly didn't need 4 defensive players at the back. In fact Maguire and Morgan handled most things. Fuchs played more forward and Simpson was the usual "not sure what I'm supposed to do" position. We could easily play wing backs because we don't need the permanent defenders on the sidelines. Persoanlly I'd have dropped Simmo and put Albrighton back there yesterday (Albrighton added nothing on the left wing and Fuchs could have doen what he did over there).

I still see us as top 8 without any problems.

edit: I think Iheanacho still has an injured toe and that is going to continue throughout the season

I'd say we can be proud of the team. Naturally, it'd be great if we could upset a handful of the bigger teams again this season, but the difference in class is still too evident and will continue to do so for a while to come. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have (much) better players in almost every single position compared to our squad.

There is no shame in admitting defeat. Results this season suggest the gap isn't THAT big, but still...

Games against other mid-table teams and the newly-promoted ones will decide our campaign.

Just look at the transfer value of Vardy and Slimani combined with Morata (who is still more expensive) and the fact that in central midfield, Kanté went for £35m and they had Drinkwater on the bench who cost the same. Us? We've got Ndidi and James.

Our only chance of surprising a few once more in the near future requires this team to grow as a unit and turn our weakness into our strength. We've had a couple of personnel changes and it takes time for it to fully click (Adrien Silva likely to be the last addition to the puzzle for now).

Why not just say you hope they sack Shakespeare?  To give proposed results of the next 2 games with the negative is just absurd. Why stop there? It would be like saying if we won both  those games by 3 goals do you think we will sign Shaky for 10 years.  He will not be under pressure a prolonged period of time and only if we are deep in a relegation battle late in the season.

I don't think either will be an issue.

I will give you a negative, I think Shakespeare is the one being exactly that, showing too much respect to the oppo and not enough faith in his own players, the only time we have looked any good in the last 2 games was when we were loosing, because then he's no choice but to let them play , and we could see then are potential .. If he had gone for it a bit more yesterday i think we would have beaten them and we wouldn't be having this chat,.

Sometimes managers can be there own worst enemies you know,  and bring the problems on themselves ..

I agree, we look like the 13-14 season team.

I hope Iborra in the team next week can add a level of better understanding to the game, in a fashion to what Cambiasso gave that season.

Ndidi really is my scapegoat at the moment, too much responsibility and I don't think he's quite there yet.

The Vardy / Slimai partnership doesn't work, let's not bother again.

It has never worked, quite why Shakespear thought it would is beyond me.

No chance whatsoever! 3 points from the first 4 games and traditionally awful when it gets cold (do we ever win in november / december / january?). The psychology of playing 'catch-up' from the very beginning of the season is so harsh - at some point the players will look at the table and think ' duhh, even a win today and we'll still be well adrift....'

I'm not criticising the team, the squad, the manager, the formation or any particular players - I've just written this season off already due to the fixture-list computer (and FiFa!).

Bring on 2018/19  :scarf:

So if we were sitting 8th in the league in January and then had games over the next month away at Arsenal (5th), Manure (top) and a home game against the champions, how many points would you exepct us to get?

We were always unlikely to get more than 1 point from those 3 games. as it is we've got 0 but we've played well IMO and could have got 4.

I think you're not being relalistic if you thought we would have many more than 3 or 4 points after the first 4 games - I hoped for more but I'm not disappointed.

I've seen a lot of positives - none more so than Vardy and Maguire - and only a few negatives.

Stoke have taken four points from Arsenal and Manchester United.

Never once did Manchester United or Chelsea get out of second gear against us.
