Grebfromgrebland Posted 25 October 2017 Share Posted 25 October 2017 I think with the players we have he'll probably play some decent football. If he adapts his style to the players we shouldn't worry too much. Let's be positive who ever gets the job miracles can happen
Rogstanley Posted 25 October 2017 Share Posted 25 October 2017 Been interesting reading some of the articles on him from when he was appointed Saints boss. He gets praised by Thierry Henry and for his work ethic, gets compared to Roy Keane (hope this is true in the sense that he’ll take no shit from the players) and it also talks about him being good at bringing through youth. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/10537958/new-southampton-manager-claude-puels-development-record-makes-him-ideal-for-job In another article they talk about him not being wedded to any particular style, saying that he’ll adapt his tactics to suit the squad. So maybe there’s hope that he won’t be too defensive. The more I read from people who aren’t either Southampton fans or people only commenting on his performance last season, the more this makes sense. Southampton themselves obviously saw something in him only 12 months ago. One mediocre premier league season with various mitigating factors doesn’t make you a bad manager. He might surprise a few people here.
