Well to be fair, you see the most of a player or player's potential in a training session. The manager makes his team based on training sessions.

His level of performance against world class opposition for his nation says to me he’ll be comfortably superior to most midfielders outside the big teams

He's slotted in really well.

 

He makes carrying 2 balls under his arms look a little tricky at times seems shakey left before he could install this vital skill.

What the slimani that has a respectable scoring record for us, when he actually plays?

 Slim can score and do well at this level, so I’m sure a regular in the Portugal national team will.
