A bird of prey munching on a pigeon or some such up in the roofing at the Kingpower a few years ago.

The bird was a regular for a few matches and I'm not certain if it was used by the club to keep pigeons and the like away from the ground but this one match, every so often a clump of feathers would come spiralling down as it tucked into its meal.

Not really thought about it until now, amazing the things you forget.

lol yep I remember that. The club defo employed it, was there for a few weeks.

A sparrow hawk just casually ripping a pigeon to bits above the family stand.

My memory of this is a bit sketchy, so feel free to correct me if I’ve elaborated or missed something, but I remember playing Charlton away at Upton Park 92 or 93 and there were some city fans being escorted out of the charlton end back to the Leicester end. I think one ran into the pitch and started stripping off and one ran on and dribbled a beach ball (that had come from the crowd) the length of the pitch (whilst being chased by a steward) and pinged it in the top corner to rapturous applause from the city fans.

I also shook hands with oooh Tommy Wright that day, good times.

If it's what I'm thinking it was littles first season I think. We were playing charlton at Upton Park and promotion was still a possibility with over ten thousand City fans attending. I was stood behind the goal but because of the numbers they opened the side stand and walked the City fans round the pitch who began to fill it. Eventually though they just stampeded across the pitch and clambered all over the stand to where they wanted to be.

However a few stayed on the pitch with a beach ball and had a kick around in the goal in front of the Carlton fans who cheered every time one of them scored. The stewards just left them to until about ten minutes before kick off when one of them went over and asked them to get into the stands which they duly abliged with, no trouble, good fun and sensible policing.

Yeah it’s definitely the right game.

There was definitely someone being chased across the pitch, whether it was just panto style or not I’m unsure. That definitely explains the fans moving round the pitch though, because there were a lot of them.

If I remember correctly they tried to stop the first few cutting across the pitch, but in the end everyone just followed so they left them to it.

It was funny, every time one of them scored a goal they'd go and do a goal celebration in front of the cheering charlton fans. lol

This is correct. About 12k City turned up and it was pay on the gate. Started to get dangerously congested behind the goal so we all spilled onto the pitch! Charlton fans were boycotting (Only about 3k turned up for them) hence why the stand down the side was shut, which they had to open up. Think we lost 2 nil, Rob Lee scoring for them. Top day out.
