Popular Post Vacamion Posted 3 January 2018 Popular Post Share Posted 3 January 2018 (edited) I thought that the acquisition of Huth, more than anything, was the extra factor in our Great Escape, It was the change from earlier in that season that, when it clicked, made a lot of other stuff click. He was brilliant in 15/16 and an outstanding MOTM in the most meaningful game that season, at Man City away. He’s still in his early 30s, so should have some life in him yet. I think we would tighten up at set pieces if we can get him back in the team. He therefore deserves all the chances the club can give him, and whenever he does, eventually, hang up his boots, he should be welcomed back as the Leicester City legend that he is. Oh, and that free kick he took, where the ball remains in orbit to this day, remains a treasured and happy memory. m4DD0gg Posted 3 January 2018 Share Posted 3 January 2018 Huth is awesome and has consistently been one of best cb at any club he has been at.
F1_AN Posted 3 January 2018 Share Posted 3 January 2018 Am I right in thinking Maguire is playing on the wrong side to accommodate Morgan? With Huth alongside we might see him less prone to positional errors? I’d take Huth over Morgan all day long
Tielemans63 Posted 3 January 2018 Share Posted 3 January 2018 I'm a big fan of Wes Morgan but Huth is our best out-and-out defender and Maguire brings so much to the side with his passing and attacking threat. For me Huth / Maguire would probably be our best CB pairing in terms of balance but it's a big call to relegate Wes to the bench. If Huth is fit again and with Wes copping a bad injury then we might finally get to see our strongest pairing.

Will have lost a lot of fitness but has been training a little while now. When fit I saw him as our best centre half. He gave Morgan confidence when he came and is imo the better of the two. He's a stopper. Problems arouse when he was required to do things he couldn't when trying to compensate for a weak midfield. Hopefully we have that covered a bit more now. His steadfastness would provide good cover for Maguires forays forward and the latter would learn some invaluable defensive lessons from him just as Morgan did. The very best of luck on his comeback. Agree if he’s the same huth as before the injury, I have commented something similar on another thread. Personally would prefer the maguire/ huth partnership, than maguire/ Morgan, but again fingers crossed it the huth of before

He's a good organizer and an excellent defender and worth keeping on even if only for backup next season. He’s out of contract in the summer I believe, if we are prepared to give James and Leo a contract extension, I would be more than happy to give huth a 12 month extension, and see his career out here.
Popular Post The whole world smiles Posted 3 January 2018 Popular Post Share Posted 3 January 2018 Write Huth off at your peril. He's an absolute monster of a man, one of the very best centre backs the club has ever had and his chapter in the Leicester City Story has not quite finished yet.
WigstonWanderer Posted 4 January 2018 Share Posted 4 January 2018 I still say if he’s fit, and with Wes out for a while, Huth and Maguire would be an interesting combination that may well go some way to fixing our set piece problems.
Sly Posted 4 January 2018 Share Posted 4 January 2018 Maguire would learn a lot from Huth.
UPinCarolina Posted 4 January 2018 Share Posted 4 January 2018 I’d imagine that we’ll be seeing him back on the bench quite soon, and possibly starting shortly after depending on his recovery.

Yes, it was made all the more difficult for him by Spurs having 2 players sent off....not a good enough performance to bring him to the top of the team selection list imo. Webbo Posted 4 January 2018 Share Posted 4 January 2018 Wouldn't have stayed up in the great escape season without him, let alone win the title. Will he be as good when come back from injury? Who knows? What's the rush to write him off?
Guest Posted 4 January 2018 Share Posted 4 January 2018 Forget Mahrez and Vardy. Huth is the main reason we stayed up and then won the title.
HybridFox Posted 4 January 2018 Share Posted 4 January 2018 (edited) Should be straight back in the team vs Chelsea. Him and Maguire will be far more stable than Dragovic Edited 4 January 2018 by TK95
Stadt Posted 4 January 2018 Share Posted 4 January 2018 (edited) He’s always been slow but made up for it with his anticipation and positioning but it’s concerning that with a bad injury at his age he might be finished at our level. I love Huth, colossal man as well as an outstanding signing and in no way am I diminishing him but I’m not hopeful. Especially considering that we don’t play quite as deep nowadays and Huth’s not particularly composed on the ball.
