Don't agree. EvNVAery top team had a clear numberrom 1. You don't get top goalkeepers who are happy to sit on the bench and you can't swap your goalkeeper regularly if you want good defensive communication. Cortois and cech lasted about 6 months (maybe a season) after cortois came back from Spain before cech left. Couldn't keep him happy.

Man.city are doing ok...

But I didnt mean you dont stamp the No1, but you need your 2nd choice get league outings, even if its only 5-6 per season.

Sitting on the bench, doesnt tone up Gks reflexes, timing and grow understanding with defence...

So a good cup run, with other fringe players...a must. But your n01 gets injured, your defence doesnt want a nervous

Gk flapping around behind...A no1 must have competition behind him.

The era has gone where  many clubs had 2 good gks and a young talent in their locker.

England, hardly broke in the 3rd gk, Corrigan from Man.city seemed to always miss out.

But England, did have 4-5 top gks to call on behind Shilton, and Clemence, they just faded

Out of International recognition. The top 2 leagues had top British born gks.

Just think, from the II wwar, Until the 90s, every generation produced 3-4 international class gks

even if not always Wclass, if not all even seeing one cap..Today some good uns come along,

but could miss out, because of ill timed injuries, or simply staying stubborn to that one no1 gk.

I for one, cant understand why, we are not encouraging British gks through our 92 profi clubs,

and we have a tendency to go foreign in  our top 2 leagues.

Even the young 3rd gk talent, like Leicesters is Often not from these shores.

Pep, will prove you can win the title, with the use of 2 gks...Bravo + Ederson.

WE ourselves have a more consistent history 3 no1 gks Spanning 60s-80s...25years.

Coincidently man city had 2 Real  great no1s spanning 32yrs.

Bert trautmann, then Frank Swift...

Imho..all Pl clubs plus wanna bes, need 2 quality class GKS, who have a continual 10 gametime a season Experience..

This doesnt mean you shouldnt qualify or confirm your no1,

its just prudent to keep your then no2 playing in some high quality games, just like your Fringe outfield players ..

Was it because we don't want him to leave or the money wasn't good enough?

I genuinely thought he'd be a strong call-up if Schmeichel was, for some reason, unavailable for a game.

Not entirely convinced on Hamer, either, but he's seems more comfortable in many situations than Jakupovic has imo.

I think there's a good chance he could go this week. Depends if lcfc have another third choice GK lined up or can cope with Iversen maybe stepping up.

Third choice GK's are rarely needed and with our PL survival as good as assured Iversen could fulfil that role.

Irrespective of his level he is still a 20yo professional GK, it's not like he's a plumber.

Several clubs have sniffed around him as they know he's not happy being third choice. Unless there's an incredible offer for him, Leicester might just take the view he's worth holding onto until at least the summer. Hamer is out of contract in the summer by the way so Jakupovic could just bide his time and see what happens.

I'd be surprised if we brought in another keeper if we offloaded this window. We'll be reducing wages at this point. Hopefully it'll be trimming excess and we reinforce in the positions necessary. If Europe is prospectively (touches wood) possible we'd want to be ready to hit the market early without having to shift them in the summer.

Anything like our money back and it's good business to sell for someone we deem not as good as Hamer. I suspect Forest would only pay £500k so for that money he's worth keeping until the summer.

Don't know what everyone has against him? I think he a good keeper knew he wasn't going to be displacing Kasper. £2m is nothing then you think how much was spent on Musa and Slimani. would rather have him then not. Besides could be worse could still have Conrad Logan as back up keeper how he lasted so long with us and played bout 10 games in all I will never know!!

Really cant understand the situation with him.  He is far and away a better keeper than Hamer but neither Puel or Appleton can see it?  Maybe, its his attitude in training or

Mike Stowell the goalkeeping coach does not rate him and reports back to Puel re this.

Hamer is a poor keeper he gave me kittens against Peterborough when he was closed down quickly on Saturday and he kicked it against his legs.  Looking back on their goal

it trickled through his legs.  I do fear for us if Kasper gets injured because I have no faith in Hamer at all.

This sort of thing baffles me. How anyone can vaguely blame him for that goal is beyond me.

Cant we sell Hamer instead.

No! He’s my only link to being “ITK”.  He’s started dating a friend of mine. Keep him!

Particularly on this occasion as a Leicester defender was stood a yard in front obstructing him.

Hamer is doggo, I'm baffled how Jakupovic has been handled since we signed him. Whiffy

There's no way this is just down to ability, he must have said something in pre season as was suggested.

Unfortunately for him he said it when the stubborn old guard was in charge so he was doomed from that point on.

There's no way a number one would sign up as a number three aged 33.

I hate the fact Hamer is still around for 'banter'... that's the sort of shit puel must be trying his best to eliminate (see moving on king, ulloa etc)
