For once it's not Max's fault.

he's cut across Ricciardo, twice, knowing his team-mate was there. There's certain legal ways to block a car overtaking you and that wasn't it.

Grosjean, on the other hand. What a mess. Tries to blame it on Ericsson as well. Idiot.

Bottas :o

Amazing how Mercedes can get away with putting debris on to the track so that Hamilton can take the lead as his team-mate gets a puncture...

A Haas mechanic planted it there.

Unfortunately for him, Vettel didn't help him out by the time he made it back round.

Both Red Bull's officially reprimanded and apportioned equal blame by the stewards.

Quote

"Both drivers contributed to the collision," said the statement. "The driver of car 33 [Verstappen] made two moves, both of which were relatively minor.

"The driver of car 3 [Ricciardo] admitted he left his move to overtake on the left, too late.

"It was obvious to the stewards that although the incident had its origins in the moves by car 33, the driver of car 3 also contributed to the incident."

What a load of non-committal rubbish from the stewards. I think Ricciardo has been forced to accept partial blame so the team can save face.

Meanwhile, Ocon has blamed Kimi again for their collision:

Quote

I was ahead of him on the straight. I was completely ahead, he was behind,"

"I don't know what he did, he released the brakes and hit me."

What planet is this guy on?!! Do they even watch the replays before spouting this rubbish to reporters?

Does Ocon think that no-one should try overtaking on turns then? He wasn't 'completely ahead' and Raikkonen had a fair go which Ocon closed the gap on too much and against the rules.

As for the decision about RB, that's just bewildering. Odd from stewards there.

Its not odd at all. It was a racing incident. Max did move twice, but barely, but Ricciardo should have made up his mind which way he was going much quicker. He got too close to the back of Max’s car and all the front downforce went so when he slammed the brakes on he had no grip.

Theres no conspiracy here, Ricciardo admitted that both drivers were to blame and he made a mistake as well as Max.

The rivalry between them both is becoming too much for Horner to handle. Ricciardo definitely won’t be a Red Bull driver at the end of this season.

Which begs the question - when does a relatively minor series of moves become more serious?

Looking back however, if this one is deemed legal, then it's no wonder they've classified today's incident as relatively minor.

As a matter of interest, who were today's race stewards?

Vettel was given a 10 second stop go penalty for that.

It's definitely not clear cut whichever way you look at it.  It's down to the interpretation of the rules which, in this case, could take the decision either way.

Red Bull have handled the aftermath pretty well publically but behind closed doors I reckon someone has taken full blame for this one and for me that'll be Max.

In fact, in the touching of wheels argument earlier on, there's a case there to suggest Max could've avoided contact altogether, Ricciardo left him plenty of room.  This one has been overshadowed by the other incident however.

What a belter of a track Baku is. The season of daylight robberies of race wins.

Surprised nobody else has mentioned comparing the two, Max easily had a worst start than Kyvatt did when he got binned

It's literally mentioned almost word for word a few posts up...?
