Well let's think then. For most of the previous season we leaked goals and didn't score many. Vardy scored 5 and our supposed attacking full backs didn't work. In fairness to Pearson he made a massive signing for me in Huth. Ranieri put Vardy as the main attacker (as opposed to Ulloah, though he'd done us proud). This utilised his pace and he broke records. He then employed a fairly static Italianesque back four using The hitherto fairly unused Simpson at right back who covered for brilliant but not overly hard working Marhez. However, even then when Ranieri felt Marhez was not working hard enough he dropped him on a couple of occasions, Marhez mentioned it during his player of the year acceptance speech. Bar the first few games of the previous season, Pearson got us in a desperate state trying to play a defensive game with players who couldn't defend. The jury is still out on who actually masterminded the great escape but it was 100% Pearsons tactics that got us into that mess. Pearson was a fantastic part of our history, particularly how he cleared the dross out and rebuilt. But ... mainly due to his relative inexperience which can be forgiven, he could never have taken us to that next level. Ranieri did far more than just sit there and let the players get on with it. He was very astute with the talent he'd inherited. Yes, I believe too that it was a combination of both, Pearsons foundations which were then managed by an older wiser tactician. This is a guy that went on strike for 10 days and then was allowed to play the next game. He won't find a manager softer than Puel. And Nigel doesn't have time for Pima Donnas. Image how many he and Vardy would have scored, and where we would have finished , if we had a proper manager who got the best out of the rest of the team? Foxxed Posted 17 May 2018 Share Posted 17 May 2018 I feel bad for Walsh. After signing three balloon d'Or players from relative obscurity he ends up sacked a few seasons later. Your right we will never know, I don't know what there is to grasp.. I'm pointing out the Pearson built a team, that under CR's guidance and management won the league. like you say there are both great managers. Foxxed Posted 17 May 2018 Share Posted 17 May 2018 (edited) I'd take Pearson's emphasis on sports psychology, his team spirit and his more exciting football (perhaps). I'd take Puel's superior premier league experience, his tactical awareness (perhaps) and his success with youth players. I'm not ditching Puel until we're in the relegation zone with no hope of escape or until we're playing a style of football that brings blood to my eyes with no hope of progress. Until then I'm supporting our manager and I'm supporting our team. Edited 17 May 2018 by Foxxed

Not ideal for him but the guys heading/ in the twilight of his career, a decent pay off and his choice of jobs after without financial pressure will soften any disappointment.. He'll get plenty of offers. DOF alongside an admin would be a better call than the current clown.
