If Wes is happy being 'club captain' and realises his job will be to keep relationships positive in the dressing room and to help new players to settle in then fine, whatever. 

 

He can't be retaining the match-day arm-band on the pitch, from the bench, surely; so again, he'll have to suck it up and help whoever gets the arm-band his help and guidance - not throw a strop over it.
