Definately mate!!

Its transformed my betting. It's the reason I have so many free bets and got the winner above. Think I'm about £3,000 up from the World Cup.

Although there is a way to 'cash in' the free bets for guaranteed profit I just punt the free bets as find it more fun.

I started a blog (which I haven't updated for ages as started a new job in Feb) but I've made about £1,500 every month for over 2 years matched betting...

I’ll have a read of your blog when I get a chance.

Out of curiosity, how much do you have to put in per month to make that kind of profit?

Thanks ?

In terms of hours I would say about 15-20 hours a week.

In terms of money, if do you matched betting the low risk way (the proper way) if you start with say £500 you could build that up to £2,000 within 4-6 weeks quite easily. If you do it the low risk way (i.e. Lay everything) you don't actually risk anything as it's all based on getting value from free bets etc.

I wondered if you layed all of them or risked letting some ride. I guess with the lower odds ones you can risk it as they're more likely to happen.

I already have at least 10 betting accounts purely from getting Cheltenham offers so it'd just be daily offers if I tried it.

Cheers Dylan. Looking forward to reading your blog.

I let the free bets ride, you can lay them off to guarantee profit but it's more time consuming.

You can still make plenty from the daily offers, especially ITV racing, and football offers when the new season starts. You can make £500 per month alone just on the acca offers

If you have the time you won't regret it.

Best of all- the profit is tax free!!

If you don't lay the free bets off, and make sizeable losses some months, surely a good portion of that quoted profit figure can't really be said to be from matched betting.

I read the blog and it seems to be a combination of following tipsters (ie regular gambling), value betting (ditto), and winnings from free bets obtained from qualifying for offers (no laying, just putting it on stuff). I don't do matched betting myself for various reasons, but my understanding of it is quite different from what's described on the blog. I assume you are doing a decent amount of actual matched betting stuff with arbs and exchanges too but the blog doesn't really mention it much.

There's two main matched betting sites really - OddsMonkey (said to be better) and Profit Accumulator. They both basically tell you what to do step by step. If anyone is looking into it, just pick one and go from there.

After a quick read I though laying the free bets off was the main way you make profit?

Yes, laying the free bets is the 'correct' way to do it but I tend to 'punt' the free bets (not recommended if you have a smaller betting bank).

However, I always lay the initial bet to activate the free bet.

Basically I'm getting a £50 free bet for the cost of about £3 (as that's my qualifying loss to trigger the free bet).

I've made about £20k+ from matched betting. The rest is from tipsters.

To qualify for the free bets I use the exchanges (Smarkets personally) and then 'punt' the free bets. I'm not saying it's the correct way just saying how I personally use the system. It's more up and down than guaranteeing profit, but all 'value betting' as you say which makes me a profit over the long run.

I also personally don't do 'arbs' as these days any bet of a sizeable amount will get your betting account 'gubbed' and basically render it useful for matched betting

Like you say Oddsmonkey is good (link on my blog) and I also use profit maximiser which is good for higher risk casino offers, again not recommended for beginners.

I've been starting this week via OddsMonkey, just doing matched bets and a few free bets from bookmakers. Still learning my way around but managed to make about £90 in two days. It helped that I started by depositing a reasonable starting bank into the exchange.

Withdrawing times is the biggest pain that I can see so far.

Once the season starts I'll start trying the accas that get you free bets back. The free bet clubs look profitable every week but look like they take a lot of time and attention to make sure you don't forget to do all the matched bets to qualify each week.

Been looking at the 2up betting as well for when the season starts though that is a little trickier as you can incur losses, and the locked profits are only small. I'll feel my way into that one though.

Good start. It definately helps when you have a decent amount in the exchange.

I'd concentrate on the new account offers as offers are a bit low at the minute with the lack of big sporting events.

When the PL starts again there will be plenty of good offers about. Accas are good but they also take a lot of learning.

Hit as many offers as you can and try and learn from the trains g videos and forum, here's to the first £1,000 ??

Yeah today I've literally had nothing to bet on. Very little happening and too low a return % on those that are there.

Managed to get one on tonight for tomorrow afternoon that needed a £50 PaddyPower bet which actually was handy for the bet club requirements. Just made 5 identical £10 bets which should trigger the £10 free bet on Monday.

Tomorrow there is the Darts at Coral. They are doing a double winnings bonus if the player wins on D20 which I've done now too and layed off for a tiny £1-3 loss on both matches. Hopefully one or both will trigger the free bet.

I'm saving up the new customer offers for when the footy season starts again. Should be able to fill my boots then. It's been enjoyable so far but my bank account has taken a bit of a hit with all the initial deposits!

I think the Paddy Power bet club requirements specifically state that multiple bets on the same outcome only count as 1..

Yeah you're right. I realised that today. The gits!

The Gary Anderson win on D20 bet came in though so happy days. Only £8.50 free bet at Coral (£25 @ 1/6) but it all helps. I even managed to cash out my Betfair lay mid-match so made zero losses giving me a nice profit from Coral too :celebrate:

(I guess we really ought to take this stuff to the current betting thread now.)
