Wow, some list that! I'd love to see 'Whole Lotta Love' live - what a guitar riff that is!

It really is a great riff. Still gives me a tingle when it starts up.

Rather oddly, I've seen Page and Plant live together a couple of times and they never played it, It was Plant and his own band at Bristol.

Remarkably, it was a free two day festival, they've since moved it to the Downs in Bristol city and charge £60 now (Weller and Noel Gallagher are playing this year among others).

There were some biggish names played while it was free to enter, Plant, Squeeze, The Stranglers, Simple Minds. Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel. Not a big fan of the last three but you really couldn't not go when it was free entry.

Incubus - A Certain Shade of Green (Nottingham Ice Arena circa 2000).

They had played a few of their slower/mellower songs before a pause then kicked into A Certain Shade of Green, and the place just fvcking erupted. I had goosebumps on my nose, my balls, EVERYwhere.

They're playing the Brixton Academy on Friday Sept 7th.

As much as I'd love to see them again, I've heard from various sources that they rarely play anything from SCIENCE/Make Yourself live anymore, pretty much ignoring their funk metal roots in favour of their terrible recent moody pop. The last 3 albums have been garbage, I think Crow Left of the Murder was where they stopped trying/started growing up/were convinced by their record label to do more radio-friendly stuff. This is also when Dirk Lance left, so I guess he had a lot of input regarding their overall sound and songwriting.

Even the lyrics are bad these days - real shame as they were a fantastic band in the late 90's/early 2000's, almost revolutionary

The last time I saw Oasis in 2003 his voice seemed shot and that was 15 years ago.

He always seemed like he was straining slightly to me, even in his pomp. Not a natural singer like some who seem to be effortless and he had to make up for that with swagger, which he did (and still does) quite well.

Haven't seen him live since Oasis split up but he has had quite a bit of wear and tear in his existence.

How did you rate it on the whole?

i saw liam gallagher around christmas and it was pretty fun. the album he released last year stood up pretty well live and all his old oasis songs got a great crowd reaction.

if you were there expecting a musical masterclass, an angelic voice or an oasis in their pomp then you’d have been gutted. but there was nothing bad about it, about 90 minutes of good fun.

I can get that. I actually thought his voice stood up really well at Glastonbury last year though I was only watching the live broadcast and wasn't there which isn't always the best way to judge. I just guess that type of voice can be a little hit or miss live.

I've never not enjoyed an Oasis concert even when I thought they were well past their best. I've seen lots of bands live so I never really go expecting anything these days, if you do so, you can often feel let down. I can't imagine I'd be disappointed if I went to see him, he always puts on a show and Liam is just Liam really,

Dropkick Murphys - The State of Massachusetts

Best opening song to any gig I've ever been to. Crowd went absolutely crazy

Tbf, DKM could open with The Torch or Forever and the crowd would still go mental, its just the support they draw.

They still ending on Skinhead on the MBTA?

I haven't seen them for about 6 years so I'm not sure. I think they finished with Boys on the Docks last time I saw them

The Who at Leeds uni 2006, baba O'Reilly  had me in bits.

I was just behind a woman at the very front and she was about 4ft tall so amazing view.

All the VIPs and Uni hierarchy were allowed in first and got to the front, I ran like a pratt when the doors opened and a combination of elbows and the heat getting to the posh types  and i was able to get forward.

Silly hot

Amazing gig

Ace of Spades - Motorhead (Reading Festival)

Firestarter - The Prodigy - Brighton (Top Rank)

I am a real house music fan but Motorhead got the crowd going and were excellent. The Prodigy (fanstastic, group/band, ensemble) are the loudest heaviest act I have ever seen live. Brilliant.

For pure emotion:

Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen Benicassim 2008

It must be love - Madness Glastonbury 2016

Fix You - Coldplay Glastonbury 2016

For sheer Joy:

Race for the prize - Flaming Lips Glasto 2017

Muse - Knights of Cydonia Benicassim 2007

For crazy intensity:

Anything by Spineshank - Rock City circa 1999 spent the entire set buried under crowd surfers and stage divers

Killing in the name - RATM - Reading 2000 crowd surfed for miles

For just being completely insane:

Flight of Icarus - Iron Maiden O2 last week - Bruce Dickinson running around like a lunatic with twin flame throwers strapped to his arms conducting 80000 middle aged men in an epic NWOBHM sing along.

Forgot probably the best ever.

Scummy Man (as it was known then) - Arctic Monkeys Carling Tent Leeds 2005.

The tent was rammed to the point of everyone outside had just lifted up all the flaps so that more people could see and hear. Cue the opening chords to Scummy Man (now called When the Sun Goes Down) Alex Turner just standing there being serenaded by thousands of people singing the entire first verse word perfect. Which was quite impressive as the song hadn’t been released yet in any format and wouldn’t be until the following year.

I was there for this and can distinctly remember someone walking past me when this came on, turning to their friend to mouth the words

”what the ****” to how mental I was going and walking off.

Shame they are a terrible pop band now.
