Given that we are overloaded with defenders and likely to finish in mid table it's better for Benkovic to stay up in Celtic for the rest of the season.

 

Chance at winning SPL and outside chance of Europa League knockout stages would be good for his confidence and development.

Practically every player in Scotland sees a move to England as entering the promised land. Benkovich is already a Leicester player, I can't see him wanting to stay in Scotland permanently, can you? Sure,he'll enjoy playing in front of a big crowd every other week and winning most games (and probably a couple of trophies this season) but, ultimately, he'll want to return to us and prove his worth is this league rather than push for a move to Celtic, surely?

Not really, Livingstone have a plastic pitch.  Benko has a history of achilles problems.  You will recall he was pulled from the Kilmarnock game during the warm-up as he felt a twinge.  The pitch they have is apparently dangerous according to Steven Gerrard who lost a key player for a year with knee ligaments following their game there in August.  So this is a case of Rogers not risking him be sent home crippled.

Brenden Rodgers has been quoted saying that Celtic will look to sign on loan defender Filip Benkovic on a permanent basis. Benkovic has been a mainstay in the celtic side making nine appearences and scoring one goal. Benkovic is on a season long loan although he does have a recall clause for January. really hope he gets a chance here if not sometime this season then next!.

Ha... talk about trying to twist what Rodgers said. The Q&A he did it was pretty obvious he was resigned to him going, also stating Benkovic wanted to play in the prem.

Brendan Rogers and some Celtic fans are quite frankly, deluded. Even if we did want to sell, they could not afford the fee or his wages.  The days of Celtic being able to sign our players dissappeared long ago.  I seriously hope he is recalled in January to put a stop to all this bollooks.  Celtic Chat Forum think we are a bunch of mugs and if we agreed to this scenario, we would be.

Probably because the drug related garbage coming out of Celtic Park is causing contagion on FT.  The apparently have a January transfer budget of 10m.  You do the maths.  Because a certain Portuguese Team had our Boxers down twice, they are going for hat-trick.   just get him back soonest.  He is good enough for us now.

Rodgers said nothing wrong...

 

“Filip is here on a loan period and Leicester have the opportunity to take him back in January,” said Rodgers.

“He is really happy here and Leicester let us have him for a reason – which was to come and get game time and prepare him for the Premier League next season.

“The likelihood is that this is a very difficult deal but if there was an opportunity it was one we would look at for sure.

“He is a big talent, but lots of these players from around Europe want to play in the Premier League.

“He is at a big club with Leicester bit has come to a very big club here to get experience and is loving every second of it. We will have to wait and see what transpires over the next couple of months.”

Hear what you say but they are in my oppinion unsettling him by even ‘suggesting’ a deal. So I think Rogers has said something wrong.  It is disrespectful to LCFC.  Recall him in Jan and give him a chance.

Shows how highly they rate him better that than nothing. 

 

They could not afford him anyway. 

 

Other than they rate him its a none story really.
