If he goes, then he goes, as I said b4 let's bring back Steve Walsh, He knows leicester inside out and will be more loyal and committed to us second time round

And take a demotion to work under a DoF when he could not succeed at Everton as a DoF himself?

I'm not sure most would take a demotion and go back to an old job - Top would have to offer him more, and I'm not sure what more he can offer.

A job's a job, sometimes in life you leave a job but later you regret it when you realise grass is never greener on the other side. I'm sure he would love to come back to us, we are familiar family to him

Hell of a long shot but would love us to offer Wenger the DOF job, he knows Puel well so maybe he would be up for it.

There's long shots and there Is just plain laughable. This is the latter.

The American group GACP completed their takeover of Girondins de Bordeaux last Tuesday.  The appointment of Macia as the Clubs Director of Football has been held up because of the takeover, but French media sources now say that it is likely to be announced within the next couple of weeks.

It’s a better fit than some people would care to admit to...

Puel has the remit to develop young talent and that’s one thing Walsh has always been good at- spotting a talent that can be developed.

That article quotes a tweet that's about three weeks old, tweeted much before the takeover. It's possible that the move was held up but it seems like baseless speculation turned into ad revenue to me.

I'd like to think we have a bit more ambition for a chief scout hire than re-hiring the same ****er for a third time!

As I've said before, Walsh had some very good analysts around him who have gone on to bigger roles at big clubs.... if he comes back here he'd be without that team and in the same position he found himself at Everton.

Plenty better out there that we could try to attract :) who knows... may be someone internal who has impressed enough for a promotion.

EDIT

Jeeeez the guy I was going to suggest as his replacement has just died... aged 28 :( https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/nov/13/robert-rowan-brentford-technical-director-dies-aged-28?CMP=twt_gu

My French isn't great, but I think this says that Macia has, is about to, become Bordeaux's new Director of Football:-

Yes and no. Yes, your French isn't great ;) and, no, he's not about to.

The article suggests that rumours are hotting up again (based on what? I dunno, maybe this article!) but nothing is confirmed and Macia is (apparently) talking to Southampton.

I think it's safe not to watch this space!

The arrival of Eduardo Macià as sports director would have cooled according to South West
According to information from the newspaper Sud Ouest, the track Eduardo Macià as sports director of the Girondins de Bordeaux it would be cooled. Yet, according to all previous information, it seemed (very) hot to materialize in December. But Joseph DaGrosa, the representative of the new US shareholders of the FCGB, had not wanted to confirm the name of the Spaniard, currently stationed in Leicester, during his last media interview (on RMC).

According to SO, Macià would be in contact with the English club Southampton, which could double Bordeaux to recruit the chief recruiter spent by Valencia, Liverpool, Fiorentina, Betis Sevilla and Olympiakos Piraeus.

So is this rubbish then? A random local journalist on Twitter quoted a newspaper article that can't be found online, and then his Tweet was subsequently quoted as a reliable source by loads of semi reputable websites, and then his Tweet was resurrected after the club was bought. I sometimes think the only that separates Sean from Enderby and most journalists is Sean's self-awareness.
