I am a Liverpool fan but I was a student in Leicester in the late 90s, and I have a great respect for the club and its supporters.   At the time I remember for the city what a huge achievement and pride it was to be in the premier league. 

 

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha  not only helped Leicester achieve premier league status again, but helped the club achieve the impossible by winning the league. Something I never thought I would see. 

 

I joined the forum to simply pay my respects for the man, and say that along with everyone at thisisanfield.com you have our condolences. 

 

Its a sad day for Leicester City and the entire premier league.

As a football fan I'm in awe of what you achieved and its truely inspiring to all other football clubs. A real fairytale. As a human being I'm absolutely shocked and saddened to hear of this terrible accident.

 

You don't have to look far to see how much Vichai means to your football club, a truly humble, kind and classy gentleman. The kind of owner that every football club dreams of.

Never has one man I've not met had such an impact on my life. Not just the investment money, his time and experience with pure dignity and respect. The multi-million pounds donated to Leicester Children's Hospital. The free beers and donughts for fans. The broadest smile at away games.

 

But most importantly, the love for a community who he owed nothing.

Football is just a game, certainly the 90 minutes.

 

Rarely there are special people who make 30,000 one family and the football world one community. 

All the love in the world for Vishai and family.

Just signed up to say as a football fan how sad I am for your club. My thoughts are with the families of the victims of this tragedy and the city and the club and you guys,

I haven’t thought about anything else since the news broke, and sleep completely evaded me. 

 

Such an impact the diminutive man from thousands of miles away has had on me and so many others. 

 

His dignity, generosity, sense of community, and love have touched me more deeply than I knew. I hope the sense of togetherness the great man has given us will be galvanised in his memory x
