No Zaha or Tomkins for them, Maguire and Vardy back for us. They have won 1 in 11, fans are on the back on Hodgson.

Away win

We specialise in being the springboard for out of form teams, 4-0 loss, Palace go unbeaten for the remainder of the seasonlol

Last season was one of, if not the worst away performance I have ever been to that I can remember.

Hoping I don’t regret going to this one as well, watching that kind of performance just ruins the entire weekend.

I know a 6-1 at Portsmouth away on a Friday night which was on Sky topped it for me. So maybe Palace was just the second worst I saw.

Although a 2-0 loss at Cov 10+ years ago was also punishment. I'm sure those were the only chances all game too.

Well, that is certainly one approach. We could look around the PL and see how much the different sides have used your approach, rather than Puel's. But life is short.lol

I'm not sure what the proportions would be, but I imagine Claude isn't the only one trying to nurse a squad through the period in this way, working extremely closely with the coaches and sport scientists to maximise our effort over the whole period, rather than waiting for the players to hit the wall and hoping things will work out.

I would suggest Claude's is the modern way, all this business about players 'going into the red' and all that. Clearly, I don't really understand it ;), but they are continually collecting masses of data on players, and I guess the big sides all look at that data.

Yeah. Guess he doing that. Must be the reason for Diabate getting a start out of the blue at Fulham, not to be seen again, Lashabela getting onto the bench blindside and Shinji doing a centre forward cameo. Must be all that data and all.

So what do Pep and Klopp do, when they have fixture congestion?

They rotate players but it doesn't matter, they're not French and give good interviews so it's fine whatever it is.

Schmeichel,

Ricardo, Evans, Maguire, Chilwell,

Gray, Mendy, Ndidi, Albrighton,

Maddison,

Vardy

I would go with something like that - but with Zaha, and us being a bit turgid creatively, i'd like to see more of a 4-1-4-1 with n'didi holding,  two wide men, and someone more creative alongside Maddison, or even 4-1-3-2 with nacho up front with vardy, and maddison sitting just behind - can't remember which games it was but nacho and vardy did look like they could be beneficial to each other.

Be interesting to see what he does if Maguire is fit- I think we look much better as a defensive unit with Evans in there keeping things organised. Need to find a way of playing them together going forward, I think Evans would be great for the development of Maguire's game.

It will be great to have Vardy back hopefully firing on all cylinders, and Zaha being out for them is excellent news- not just because he's a good player, but Palace will obviously have their dreadful record without him in the back on their minds for the game.

Win this, lift any pressure which might develop in the league with our tough run coming up and then concentrate on the cups.

Historically, Maguire has played better when he hasn't got Morgan next to him, and morgan looks better when he has evans next to him - so i'm just hoping it's not morgan/maguire.

If Vardy does miss the game, I'd start Nacho - i know he's off-form, but the only way to get form back is to play. But i would also then put someone like Uche on the bench, to bring on for him, if it doesn't click - sometimes it just works throwing on a young kid with no fears and nothing to lose, and it sounds like he's full of confidence right now.

5-0 was it? Who got sent off? Albrighton?

Yeah 5-0 and Albrighton sent off for pulling down Zaha I think it was when through on goal, after that they just seemed to constantly be able to walk through our team and have a chance on goal for the last 30 minutes of the game, players were just all over the place

I think it probably will be if everyone is fit.  X

Can't really ask for more than Zaha out, Palace record without him is absolutely woeful.

If Maguire and Vardy are back no reason at all why we shouldn't win the game.

We don't even need Maguire and Vardz, Palace without Zaha are dreadful. Should be a walk in the park. However, knowing lestah, god knows what the score'll be.

Leicester without Vardy are dreadful aswell lol

Could well be rested.

We've got a busy schedule and he's played the majority of minutes this season. We've got Fuchs as a very capable deputy, so may as well give the young lad a break as we'll need him for the cup game.
