He does need to tone it down a little tbh. Ndidi tackles a lot but I dont see him going OTT.

Are you saying you would have preferred that he let Salah stroll on through.

I assumed every football person would have expected him to make that challenge and take the yellow for the team.

I mean I don't know how many times I'm going to have to reiterate this point but I don't have that much of an issue with Saturdays tackle other than I'm not sure he needs to lunge in quite so much to bring him down and it's a bit unfortunate he injured Salah, but it is still fuel for the punditry/media storm that's gathering around him which he/we don't need.

I mean people on here might think their opinion that Richie pulled out of a tackle and therefore deserved to be put out for 2 months and have stitches in his ankle is relevant and therefore Jurgen Klopp has no right to bring it up however it isn't. The relative opinion is that off the mass media and the flood of pundits how branded it a unpunished horror challenge and he will only get support by using it as an example.

I am still amazed professional people within the game are trying to seriously claim yesterdays is a red in spite of all that though.

The Bamba tackle has been the only real one where he was out of order. Had no business flying in like that in the penalty area. If he didn't get the ball it was always going to be a penalty.

That's the only one where I think he was in the wrong.

The Salah tackle is one he has to make and the Ritchie one was a case of Hamza being committed to a 50/50 and Ritchie pulled out of it.

Klopp is so far out of order for calling him out on it. Hate the way he's spoken about it too, the tone of it all. As though he's the leading authority of how to tackle. Plus the way the media have lapped it up. Tanner was right to call him out for it in his The Athletic article.

Salah never got hurt, bit of brusing from falling over hamza's thigh, was not even the worse tackle on the day, TAA was far worse and no card. Same with the penalty no more contact than any challenge anywhere on the pitch, a joke. Nobody wants any serious injury, but if the game becomes anymore sanotised then it will be pointless ad no one will be able to tackle. I played semi pro football which could be vivious, but even in this level very few had serious injuries and when they did the tackles were obvious and with intent, those people should be done for GBH. This is all blown out of proportion by the media, who go along for the ride to create sensationalism, especially biased to the bigger teams. VAR will get better as long as the people making the decisions become more proffesional, it is OK in Rugby.

Bit unfortunate to injure Salah but terrible tackle well worthy of the yellow.

As I've said before he’s doing himself no favours  at the moment and earning himself a reputation.

All good saying he doesn’t need to change his game until he gets sent off in a game we need to win.

.. actually, that was brilliant play by Salah, in that instance!!.... and in the context of the situation can understand why the ref went there!!

Hamza genuinely made an attempt to play the ball, he came in at the side just slightly behind Salah and his effort to play the ball was not an opportunity to take one for the team or recklessly endanger a player, he genuinely believed that he could get there. Salah at speed having moved the ball with his left foot from the position that Hamza had last  seen made the incident appear worse than it was. Absolutely a brilliant bit of skill by Salah, a slight of foot you could say.

For me a foul, yellow card questionable, ticking off might have been called for.

Had Hamza remembered Salah was left footed, we probably would be watching this on YouTube and drooling over Hamzas' skills.

Describing it as “questionable” as a yellow card is even crazier than Klopp thinking it was a red.

Textbook yellow card offence.

I actually cheered the tackle immensely at the time yelling ' that will flippin teach you pushing people in the back and getting away with it, because its Anfield!!!'. But Hamza needs to tone it down a bit before he runs into Moss, Dean or Pawson on a card happy day.

There should be no reputation, every tackle should be judged from instance to instance. It was a yellow card professional foul, in the context of play he took one for the team. Klopp is talking absolute codswollop and Salah will be fine. Move on.

We have a unique player here and that concerns other Clubs & managers. He is not a dangerous knobhead who goes out to hurt people, he's a hot blooded young man who is not scared to put it all on the line for our team, you don't want to change any of that. Opposition being fearful is their problem, he shouldn't look to alter his game too much and he can always improve.

I assume that if hamza didn't think he had a chance of reaching the ball that he would have just tugged him back by the shirt …….. but then again, hamza loves a tackle …...

This is what you get with weak referees, too timid to give the push on Soy, Hamza has seen this, and done something about it.

Unfortunately it ended with him being booked.

No referee looking back at that will think he tried to injure Salah and give him a reputation for it.

It was cynical but similar to the one he made against Man City and (Liverpool I think too), where he won the ball.

It was worthy of a yellow and probably worth taking a yellow in that situation.

People losing their sh*t over Hamzas mistimed and over enthusiastic (sometimes clumsy) tackling have obviously never seen Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, or Patrick Viera play, or take one for the team.

In fact Scholes made a career out of it. He was often that late he'd get booked /sent off in the following game instead

The balls gone and he knows that, it’s not vicious or dangerous  I agree he’s trying to break up play but as usual with Hamsar recently it’s a lunge he’s not in total control of it. if you’ve played the game it’s the kind of tackle you dread, someone flying in on your trailing leg when you’ve got ahead of them is not pleasant,  I've seen very similar slightly less well timed tackles with a bit more force result in Broken ankles..

Agree..but so is football..!!

And Klopp ( my favourite oppo manager)

Still went over the top with his comments, especially after a couple of tackles his own players put in before the Hamza incident..!!!

A good journalist/interviewer would of picked him up on it..!!
