A very respected world class coach.

Not all has worked out for him but him still managing in the premiership is outstanding.

He'd only have to be in the game 5 minutes to work out our Kasper to Chilwell huff and hit them down the flanks as the full backs are further up the field than the wingers game plan.

IMO he'd get more out of our set of players than the current incumbent

1976–1980 Halmstad

1982 Bristol City

1982 Oddevold

1983–1984  Örebro

1985–1989 Malmö

1990–1992 Neuchâtel Xamax

1992–1995 Switzerland

1995–1997 Inter Milan

1997–1998 Blackburn Rovers

1999 Inter Milan (caretaker)

1999–2000 Grasshoppers

2000–2001 Copenhagen

2001 Udinese

2002–2004 United Arab Emirates

2004–2005 Viking

2006–2007 Finland

2007–2010 Fulham

2010–2011 Liverpool

2011–2012 West Bromwich Albion

2012–2016 England

2013  England U-21 (caretaker)

2017–Crystal Palace

World class?  lol

That's a long line of clubs over 43 years and not much need for the silver polish.

I agree we don't have a winger like him, raw pace and direct approach

This could be a case where time turns a woeful player into a good one. Fast? Yes sometimes but not let's kid ourselves that he endlessly used his pace to skip past defenders because it was a rarity. He always appeared half asleep without a football thought in his head. He's hardly been a Palace regular either, there must be a reason for that. No comparison between him and Chilwell. One's on the up and up and flirting with the England 1st team and one's still asleep in the changing rooms ??

we still miss having that type of winger as an option

I don't consider them as the same type of winger, Schlupp is about power and Pace, Gray isn't

It was more of a general view not a direct comparison

Had a look to see how old Jeff is thought of by the Palace fans

Schlupp’s issue is consistency. He doesn’t just go from league one to premier league level, he goes down to Sunday league sometimes.

He is often responsible for a move breaking down, though he and PVA are really at odds to win that competition. He has pace to burn but seems to rarely use it, and cannot seem to go past a player.

Defensively he is often suspect, like the first goal at man city, however again a certain PVA is right up there with him on that one.

Fact is Schlupp has popped up with some goals and the manager likes him. However one has to wonder now if he will be the first sub to come on when not starting, if we are chasing a game, as now we have more options.

That sounds rather familiar...

as footballers they are nothing alike so when I said we miss having someone of Schlupp's style as an option saying we have one in Gray is a direct comparison

As an option for what? He was simply awful except for the odd rush of blood. We just haven't room for such an unproductive player, you could wait games for him to do anything of any use, we were so lucky to get the money we did for him. Chilwell , Gray, Albrighton , Ghezzal, Perreira , Armartey, despite some of those being subject of criticism, are all far better, he'd never get a game. His usefulness is a historical myth.

? No way is Ghezzal better than anyone above National League level

But you answered a poster who was talking mainly about pace with Schlupp and you said we miss a player like that. Gray is all pace and little else. Schlupp is pace, power and brainless though so I know they are different but you are being very pedantic.
