When will the large transfer money fees bubble burst?

If the global TV revenue stops increasing at an astronomic rate, until then no chance.

Agree to a large extent.

But don't understand, really, of those who complain about Sky (for example) 'controlling' the game - why they still subscribe to them (although I do agree with their negative stance against the company and BT)?..

It's as if customers are 'feeding the troll more' in this instance.

The company has partially ruined the game, never mind the money it sends to clubs etc, and there appears to be no stop to them sadly.

It sort of is, just not by much and it is not having much effect on ridiculous spending yet

It's the overseas revenue that's gone whacky over recent years as well. It surely will change at some point, all these other sources trying to get in on the act pose a dilemma. Do Sky and BT, the main two keep paying more and more or do they use the increase in different platforms as a way of driving the price down by changing how they broadcast. I can't believe that in 10-15 years these historic subscriptions will remain the same, things are becoming more tailored and customised. More choice.

Club are doing well here, they've set a (rough) price and won't entertain anything below it. Seems to be a united front from the usual journos on our side as well which helps.

Seems we've finally learnt our lesson.

Think the loss of Kante for a relative pittance has hardened the stance and quite rightly, too. We should let players go for our value, not the buying club's.

Even though none have gone for over £50m?

There was still no precedent for English defenders being worth that, before about three hours ago. The money also hasn’t gone up that much... and that doesn’t really matter about state run clubs!

if wingers are valued at 80 million who at the time barely played a game for england ( sancho) then absolutely there’s a precedent for england’s regular and established CB to be worth the same.

If we get £80m then I'd absolutely sell him, but I think we'll end up keeping him as I can't see Maguire throwing his toys out the pram.

We've got a young team for the most part but with decent experience as well. Chilwell and Maddison are coming off the back of their first full PL seasons, as well as Ricardo, but we've got enough experience as well in the likes of Schmeichel, Vardy & Evans. Even N'didi has got a couple of seasons behind him now and he's only 22.

Personally, I'd take the money and go for Ozan Kabak @ Stuttgart. Think he won rookie of the year award (or something) despite only playing half a season in a team that ended up getting relegated in the play-off. 19-years-old and a release clause around €16m, though Bayern have been sniffing around.

Use another £40m of the money on Tielemans and there's still plenty to play with in the transfer kitty to bring in a quality winger if the club's rumoured financial backing this summer is to be believed.
