Premier League Thread 2019/20

I felt the same sort of way about Michael Carrick who was either being raved about or slagged off; I felt he was quite down to earth and talked some sense and always rated him in an under-stated sort of way. You don't get too many of these characters at United, but I liked Carrick.

Think a night out with say Phil Jones, Michael Carrick, Steve Guppy and Marc Albrighton and any one of us would manage to be the life of the party. Wonder if any of them would put their hands in the pocket to cover it all?

Don’t mess about do they. Seems like no matter who they have in it will make much difference this season. Might as well put deeney in charge until the end of the season

Wonder how many managers they will go through this season.

Quique Flores would be best advised not to move far. He'll be back in charge by March.

Ridiculous that they've given Flores 3 months and no transfer window to sort it out.

I know they won't, but the next appointment needs to have the potential relegation in mind and look to promotion. But Watford don't think long term.

does ranieri have a job? for some reason i think he would fit perfectly with what the watford owners want, and be an absolute disaster in reality.

I think he's at Sampdoria. Plus, his brief time at Fulham might put them off.

Hughton is well overrated because he’s a nice bloke

I thought he did a pretty decent job at Newcastle, Birmingham and Brighton if my memory serve me correct :dunno:

He's a good manager but I don't think this is a good fit at all, there's no real difference between him and Flores tbh

Maybe, but I think that's a bit too defeatist, the is probably the best season to be in a rele scrap because a few wins you're about 8th. No point conceding defeat yet when they can easily put a run together. If I were them i'd get a rele specialist in, or an actual attacking manager.

Spent a lot of money at Brighton to just keep their head’s above water every season. They could barely score too. He’s fine for getting a club promoted and will keep them up but that’s his ceiling.

They might as well give it to Elton John.

That's Watford relegated for me. It'd take a massive boost of energy and a manager with both a tough hand and the convincing personality to drag the Hornets out of their misery. Sadly, I can't see it happening.

Are they better than Everton, Newcastle, Brighton, Villa? Nope.

No reasonable manager will want to join a club with such a revolving door policy.

Watford have a decentish squad but I wouldn’t want any of their players even as squad players which says a lot.
