A great football man,a top character, and probably over a 20 year period, one of, if not the best manager in European & world football, takes a massive step back ,and goes into retirement...

Bayern's very own Uli Hoeness..!!

I am a also a BVB,and since my youth followed German football. I never liked

Bayern, like many had a love-hate-respect ,in direction Hoeness.

But it must be said, for his club, and for

German football he gave everything.

A top manager, top descisions and organisation, where few others never knew what that meant. Great also support for the German national team.

Oh yes,he was all Bayern & German football..the bloke couldn't half grind, and wind many people up.but he was

bloody successfull,people listened,and

Like I said in all the vocabulary that covers "football manager" he was the best.....

He also did so much for clubs in financial need and did a lot for local charities and organisations. A lot of this stuff never came to the surface. For someone who had to retire early through injury, he made a good living.

Bundesliga 2. started this weekend.

Can’t see past Stuttgart and HSV for the top two spots. Got a feeling Kiel will do well.

Bochum got off to a bad start loosing 3.1 and by all accounts were rubbish.

Some big clubs in there this season. Nurnberg will be pushing too. HSV need to get back on track after the dismal end to last season.

Battle going on in Spain between the Spanish Federation and La Liga over Friday and Monday fixtures. Even in Spain where most fans don't travel they actually give a shit

Sounds similar to what German fans did - they stopped their Monday games throughout last season because of huge fan protests against it.

Yeah amazing what they did in Germany last season. Just shows what can be done if you make a stand.

There was a Monday game last weekend in the 3.Liga and fans protested there too (throwing tennis balls onto the pitch before kick off). In the UK fans are just accepting of whatever happens (in the majority). The classic British thing of hating something but if someone asks you say everything is fine to be polite. The other problem is that Sky (and other TV companies) really have everyone in their grasp and unless stadiums are literally empty, nothing will change.
