Im not trying to be awkward because i dont see it as that big of a deal.

If i go with a group of mates, one at least would stay sober through choice so could drive as a possibility.

During a day with family i can drink if i want to and choose transport to get over there.

I could drive myself over there if i wanted.

I could meet with family on saturday.

People go to Plymouth and Carlise on a week night and wear it like a badge of honour and cant make a plan to enjoy themself for a night kick off in the holiday season?

Response tv schedules can seems over the top at times

Again though, it's not about the ability to have a few ales pre and post-match. Everybody knows there are no trains on Boxing Day so have to adjust plans accordingly if they usually go by rail (which I do).

But having it so late means there will be no public buses running after the match, meaning gridlock in the city at 10 o'clock at night for everyone who can't get home on foot (and no doubt thousands streaming out to beat the traffic from 75 minutes onwards too).

When all's said and done, no it's not the end of the world but it is an unnecessary and thoughtless decision which will impact one many people's ability to enjoy their day - not to mention the 3k Scousers who won't get home until the early hours now.

Quite ironic a company called Amazon leaving people up the creek with no paddle.

Let's have a moment of sympathy for our travelling visitors from Liverpool but only the ones who would agree Mane cheated the other day.......so probably none of them then.

A lot of the liverpool fans will come by coach if from liverpool, theyll still get their supporters coach like normal. If it was a midweek game theyd get home really really late. Theyll get home really really late from this one at its the weekend so id imagine the majority of them again wont worry about the day after.

I have sympathy with your inability to use the train but is there not something else you can do? This issue must always be a problem for you on boxing day?

Just gonna walk from Bedford then if it's that easy!

Google says it's 18 hours. Gonna set off at 2am so I get there just in time. Take no breaks. Also means I probably won't be able to enjoy my birthday a day before as much as I'll need to be nice and fresh for the early start and long walk ahead.

Hope I don't get run over or too cold and wet on this long and arduous journey ahead.

Thanks for the suggestion @Donk! Hadn't really considered it before! Can't wait for the long walk back :)

See you at the game! Reckon you could get me a coffee to help warm me up? You may need to hold it for me as my fingers may be a little cold to the touch.

Just hop on the Bedford Supporters coach pal.

Yes, but if you read my posts properly you'll realise I'm not actually grousing about how this just affects me personally.

I agree, but Boxing Day games have always traditionally been played at 3pm or earlier - and as such I don't think it's a fair comparison as the authorities in the past haven't considered them as "midweek fixtures" and have obviously given some consideration to how people like to spend this time of year and the limited transport options available. Sticking a game on at 8pm obviously flies in the face of that.

Like I say, I've always accepted the fact there are no trains and can usually get a car full with family or mates on Boxing Day - but who wants to spend their Boxing Day night rammed in queues on Leicester's roads because the transport options are even more limited than usual? It's completely inconsiderate.

Premier League website a few min ago. At last!

It states 7.30 for the Watford game, but not sure that will be the case?

Then again it's Amazon's first attempt at this so they may be trying summat a bit different?

I’ve always thought night matches should be 7.30 kick off.

How do you become a member of Amazon Prime Sport*?

*Not keen on more competition for showing football games, particularly with Amazon having no links with live games before this happening.
