Royston. Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 Hes a mixed bag of good, bad and ineffective which could describe several of our squad but for 30M id expect alot better. We'll see.
AKCJ Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 Would have liked to have seen how he'd have been up front with Vardy in the diamond. I just don't think he's a winger. He's been a goalscorer for Newcastle and I think we're wasting that out wide.
kingfox Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 Around the 18 yard box he looks a decent player, showed some nice link up play today. When he receives the ball about 30-40 yards from goal though he is fvcking shit, gets bullied off the ball far too easily, gives the ball away, then the opposition break on us. It must be very different for him going from playing off a proper target man in Rondon to trying to support a completely differerent type of striker in Vardy. I'm with you in that I don't think he's really a winger, though I wonder if it's worth trying him on the left cutting in as opposed to the right. ARTY_FOX Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 Lovely on the ball, far to scared of other players off it. That needs sorting out then he could be some player.

lifted*fox Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 did fine today - it's par for the course now though that our fans want to moan about a player for one reason or another, even after a win.
HybridFox Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 Thought he did alright today. Some good link up play at times. I just wish he'd take a gamble at the far post when the ball gets fizzed in. If he can be the fox in the box, it'll only improve us!
Ric Flair Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 I am quietly confident he will do well here. The fans claiming he is being played out of position are basing that on what? Did they ever watch Newcastle at all? Ricardo was abysmal for us early on and now look at him. Now, not every player will start poorly and then show their true ability once they bed in but plenty struggle early on at new clubs. He scored most of his goals at Newcastle as a right forward, in a 4-1-4-1 which incidentally was the first league game he played RW in the system, he will get chances to do what he is good at. Pressing, winning the ball and attacking crosses.

Tbf though, it's not just him - we NEVER have anyone at the back post. I've lost count of the number of times I'm like 'BACKPOST!' and nobody is there, ever.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 Wish people would stop banging on about the fee for the lad. It's not like he set it himself is it. Newcastle fans warned us he's a slow starter, not a bad thing given Vards is on fire at the moment so likely to tail off at some point. Needs a goal, maybe Luton could give him the chance. Claridge Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 I thought he was excellent 50% of the time and awful 50%. Bit like Barnes, who was probably more 60/

Jonaldinho Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 He had his best game for us today, got involved in plenty of attacks and often linked well with Tielemans and Ricardo. He does seem a bit lightweight to me though, like he's new to the Premier League, not just Leicester. He's clearly technically good but kind of one-paced and backed out of several challenges with Rose. Plenty of positives today however and I'd start him next week against Newcastle. Popular Post Wolfox Posted 21 September 2019 Popular Post Share Posted 21 September 2019 First opportunity to pop into FT today…. Genuinely bemused that anybody could see that he didn’t have a good game… One or or two max errors (that were fairly evident) but, I thought he looked good…. I’m very encouraged…. He doesn't half get stuck in too…. I get the impression that he’ll become better and better… well done Ayoze

Hollyfox Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 I thought he was terrible tbh. His effort levels were not great either. When Kasper had the ball he was jogging forward, which made it easy for Rose to mark him. He should have been sprinting out to the right hand side to put pressure on their backs. Not given up on him, but think there's a lot more to come. The weak link for the 1st half and much of the the second until substituted 1

Clever Fox Posted 21 September 2019 Share Posted 21 September 2019 He was better today and brought a balance to the team on the right side. He worked well with Ricardo down the right and Tielimans on the inside. His problem is he's still trying to find out where he fits into the team. This can take time with some players and instant with others. He was physical today from the start which I liked and not afraid to have a go. He's getting there albeit a little slowly, just keep the faith.

This is our stock formation playing 4-1-4-1. He's not playing as a No8 so if he can't play on the right wing then we should have bought someone who could.

The weak link for the 1st half and much of the the second until substituted I would recommend going and rewatching the game, the press he put on their back line was outstanding. He won the ball back in their half time and time again. Best game for us today and I only see him getting better.
Popular Post moore_94 Posted 21 September 2019 Popular Post Share Posted 21 September 2019 He was much better today The system where we play with 2 Defensive Midfielders and Maddison wide nullifies the way he plays, as when we do Maddison is the player coming inside from the wing all the time, leaving no space so Perez has to stay wide. However in what is obviously our best system which we played today with Maddison playing deep and Barnes staying wide, there is space allowing Perez to be the player coming inside to do stuff like this (which is how he plays best) This exact style of play is what got us the 1st goal against Sheff Utd, could have definitely been another goal today from this move I have no doubt that he will get us goals and assists this season, and will also get a decent amount of "hocket assists" and creating the chances that allow other players to move up and score our goals 4

Today there were some nice touches, but several dodgy ones too. We need proper wingers out there and not use Perez and Maddison like we have been in recent matches.
