Leicester_Loyal 4,750 Posted 25 November 2020 Report Share Posted 25 November 2020 Rodgers and the club will know a lot more about his recovery than me but please don't rush him back. Give him an extra week and give him some minutes again AEK Athens, I'd be totally ok with that.
deanolegend1989 747 Posted 25 November 2020 Report Share Posted 25 November 2020 Fantastic news. Huge improvement with him in midfield. Rest him for the Europa league groups though and make sure he’s back 100% before rushing him. Cant afford to get him injured again.
Popular Post weller54 9,135 Posted 25 November 2020 Popular Post Report Share Posted 25 November 2020 Harsh on Mendy if he replaces him immediately.. Arguably, Mendy has been our best player this season.
harpendenfox 1,211 Posted 25 November 2020 Report Share Posted 25 November 2020 Room enough for both of them to rotate in the coming weeks, and perhaps Wilf might be used at centre back again from time to time to allow Little Wes and Jonny some rest until Caglar is available again

Having Ndidi back should allow us to pick another attacking player in the line-up, though, and Mendy should still get plenty of games with the fixture list as hectic as it is.

A fully fit Wilf is a huge upgrade to our team and takes us to the next level so it’s crucial we don’t get him injured again.
st albans fox 8,285 Posted 28 November 2020 Report Share Posted 28 November 2020 Wilf might play Thursday ... so might Ricky and cags !!!
lcfc sheff 1,270 Posted 28 November 2020 Report Share Posted 28 November 2020 So what formation do we play when he’s back? Can we make it work with a 343 or will we return to 4atb?

cruzFOX 249 Posted 28 November 2020 Report Share Posted 28 November 2020 I’m sure Brendan will be easing wilf, Ricky and cags back very slowly and carefully. Remember he gets to see them everyday in training so knows best if they are ready or not. We just have to trust the coaches the rest is upto the players. Agree with everyone that our Mighty Mouse Mendy has performed exceptionally.

Bats8711 357 Posted 29 November 2020 Report Share Posted 29 November 2020 for me Mendy keeps his spot in first XI til something changes.
Lcfc-1992 381 Posted 14 December 2020 Report Share Posted 14 December 2020 I thought his passing was so much better last night, one inside the full back was something you don’t normally see from him. It’s the one thing that lets his game down (apart from his shooting ) so hopefully he can keep it up.
Jonezy 581 Posted 14 December 2020 Report Share Posted 14 December 2020 He just makes everyone better doesn't he? Like they know he is back there cleaning up, so they can take bigger risks and play with more freedom. Also his passing was great yesterday.
Babylon 28,352 Posted 14 December 2020 Report Share Posted 14 December 2020 If Mendy had done what he did for their first two chances, certain people on here would have slaughtered him. Great to have him back though, you just feel safer with Wilf there.
StanSP 26,027 Posted 16 December 2020 Report Share Posted 16 December 2020 He's only 23 Thought he was a couple of years older. What a player we have. Happy birthday Wilf!

Ric Flair 20,188 Posted 16 December 2020 Report Share Posted 16 December 2020 Ndidi has come back just at the right time. Mendy has been brilliant for us but the team needed a herculean shot in the arm after the relentless league and European games and Ndidi has provided that so far. Now we can manage this hectic festive period a bit better and hopefully allow us to play 4 at the back where possible. Its great to have Mendy as a reliable replacement though. Marshall Cockney Fox 789 Posted 16 December 2020 Report Share Posted 16 December 2020 I thought his passing and positioning against Brighton was just more progressive than Mendy. I like the little man a lot. But I just think Wilf is better. He looks for a forward pass more and is a total beast in the challenge. In a straight selection a fit Wilf will always win. But to grow as a club you need 2 solid options in all positions. We have that in CDM. Happy days!!
coolhandfox 2,800 Posted 16 December 2020 Report Share Posted 16 December 2020 What Ndidi has over Mendy is physicality, he's so hard to get away from and around.

Wilf's passing has definitely been one of his weaknesses during his time here, but it was good to hear Maddison make a comment after the game about how much this aspect of his game has improved lately. Mendy will never be able to match Ndidi's physicality, but if he was able to carry the ball more and use his excellent positional sense to make more progressive passes, it would make BR's selection headache a bit stronger. I have to agree that Ndidi is just the better overall player currently.

But admittedly I am being picky. They are both good players.
dmayne7 1,025 Posted 16 December 2020 Report Share Posted 16 December 2020 Mendy has been superb for us and certain performances such as Man City away, benefited from having him in there but Wilf just makes us a better team. Makes challenges that Mendy doesn't and covers the ground much better. Also nice to have his height/spring on defensive set pieces.
