Bizarre things your neighbors are up to

Recommended Posts

My upstairs neighbor has the odd habit of having to listen to loud music whilst taking a shower.

I mean :dunno:.

What are some of your weirdest experiences with the people living next to you?

In my first week of Uni halls my room was next door to a Japanese girl that sang along to her alarm rather than turning the ****er off.

So if she had an alarm set for an 8:00 lecture she'd be up at 7 shouting her head off.

You had 8am lectures!?!?! That's barbaric.

I think my earliest ones were 8:30.

But this girl would be up at the crack of sparrows screaching her head off to the same song every morning. Was ****ing weird to wake up to.

In my 3rd year at Uni, I lived in a house of 5, 2 of which started dating. When they had arguments, one would go to the bathroom and grab the others toothbrush, before chucking it down the chairs.

Another time, one was having a bath and wanted candles to make it more relaxing. We obviously didn't have any so she used a cake sparkler instead.

Not really bizarre, but...

Last Sunday night my partner and I were watching a film - surround sound was on, so it was pretty loud in the living room. All of a sudden there's the loudest, quickly repeating banging on the wall, to the point where I turned to her and said something about somebody doing DIY on a Sunday evening. Or that the neighbours were a bit pissed off at the noise.

I paused the film and it became apparent what the source of the noise was. And the lady was absolutely screaming.

Also, it's their kitchen... I don't think I'd be going around to theirs for dinner anytime soon.

At uni, in halls, one of the guys would have a habit of leaving eggshells and peeling potatoes in the sink. The fvcking sink.

The bin was right next to the sink unit as well.

Absolutely retarded behaviour that.

During my student years, I once lived in a flat with two girls. They had been living together for a while already, and set up a to-do list, including cleaning of the bathroom - fair enough.

I once got „approached“ for not being clean enough in the bathroom (a minor issue, if I recall correctly - leaving the toilet lid up, I think), whilst it turned out that one of the girls, a feisty and somewhat hot redhead, was a specialist at leaving her leftover hair in the sink after combing.

Talking about double standards. lol

Needless to say, I left the place not long after.

(I once bumped into the redhead again a few years later, and she‘d turned into quite the porker.)

None of this is bizarre unless this is you’re only experience living with a woman ever

Is that weird? I sometimes listen to music as I'm getting ready, mainly on weekends though.

My neighbour has been building this out building at the end of his garden for a few months now. The thing is absolutely massive and it is the whole width of his garden. I think he said it was a workshop or something, however I don’t hear him doing any work and I am now getting concerned that something very sinister is going on. If I ever go quiet and stop posting on here someone please check that building.

Get the council involved to see if he has planning permission if you think it's too big?

Yeah I believe it is just within the limit. I’d share a photo but probably best not

Mine got arrested the other day for locking his heavily pregnant girlfriend in their house and hiding her car (and phone) on another estate.

Well, I find it odd. So uncommon.

I would have half the issue if at least the music were any good.lol

"Love thy neighbor" is a romantic notion but I have struggled to adopt it's practicalities over the years.

I'm currently living next to real filth. Standard stuff; loud mouth bitch with god knows how many kids, all of whom are retarded, leaves the dog alone to bark in the garden all day, never maintains her house, police always knocking on her door, slams the door as loud as she can when she leaves the house. I'd seriously rather live next to a house full of chimps

Some years ago I was living on one of the streets off Tudor Rd, next door to a young woman I found hard to get on with.

So, apparently , did her boyfriend. I was aware I hadn't seen him for a day or two when one Sunday night he turned up with his mate in a car, parked up outside, and proceeded to smash every window in her house.  The ones facing the street anyway. Upstairs and down.

The noise was incredible. But he seemed pretty calm about it. No shouting or effing & blinding. Just maximum destruction and then off he drives with his mate.

Almost, but not quite, felt sorry for her...

I lived with some absolute vermin during my first year at uni. I was the only one that would take the bin out (you had to walk past the big industrial bins on the way out as well) so if I was away for a few days or a week the kitchen would look like a landfill site. They'd throw their rubbish on the floor, putrid mouldy milk bottles and bread. Once messaged one of them that he had a mouldy lunchbox in the fridge and asked him to bin it because it looked like the Eden project in there, his reply was like "You can bin it if you want"

not sure i've ever lived with anyone who doesn't listen to music in the shower? there is (and has been for like 20 years) a whole market for shower radios, waterproof bluetooth speakers, shower speakers an all sorts. that is probably the least weird thing i've ever heard.

most my neighbours (and flatmates seen as that's what we are including) have been sound, bar some ott parties every now and then but we all do that. did once have a housemate who used to shave his whole body in the bathroom and not clean it up. no idea what mad ting positions he was getting in but there was hairs fu cking everywhere. bath, sink, toilet, floor, bin, shelves, it was remarkable. if it wasn't so disgusting it'd probably be impressive.
