Fuchs, Thomas, any other left backs in the youth academy because if you’ve not yet realised castagne isn’t a left back

Ok, left wing back smart arse. I’m sure I’ve watched him play more than most on here.

Also, id still argue he would do a better job at Lb than any of them although wouldn’t buy him to play there if that makes sense.

I think this move signals the start of JJs move to a more central role. I don’t believe this is a replacement for Chilwell but actually our successor to Ricardo.

I think Praet is a good player! I know opinion on him is divided on Foxes Talk, but I think he's very good technically and he was decent for his first season in the Premier League. He does need to improve but he's definitely very talented. I think Praet (and Castagne) will really help us in Europe too.

Thinking back on fan opinions, my recollection seems to be:

Slimani - Sporting fans said he was poor technically but worked his ass off for the team and would get goals. I think this was largely true but the problem was he didn't work well with Vardy and didn't seem to get on with him or others in the squad. We definitely overpaid but I'd argue it was a bad decision to sign him more than the player himself being bad. He proved he could play on loan at Monaco last season.

Silva - was thought of as being one of the best players left in Portugal and fans didn't want to see him go. This was obviously a huge bust and I think his inability to do anything for us must go down as one of the biggest mysteries of all time. On paper, he should have been much more successful, especially given we changed our style of play. Even Sporting fans are confused as to why he was so bad for us.

Ricardo - Porto fans said he was good and would do well here. Think that proved to be right!

Maddison - Norwich fans said he was good and though he would go on to be capped by England.

Ghezall - Monaco fans thanked us for an early Christmas present and thought we massively overpaid. They were right.

Praet - Sampdoria fans said he was one of the most underrated midfielders in Italy. Hasn't lived up to that hype yet, but showed glimpses.

Tielemans - Monaco fans didn't rate him at all. An interesting one as he was immense during his loan spell, and whilst not as good as that last season, definitely had games where he ran the show.

If you compared that to some of our departures and what we thought:

Kante - We cried because we knew he was the best CDM in the world.

Drinkwater - We appreciated Danny but for 35m knew we had Chelsea's pants down.

Mahrez - Another one to be sad about. We knew he wnated to go and was behaving like a brat, but knew how good he was. Proved to fit in at Man City.

Maguire - Good player but 80m was daylight robbery. Since proved as much at Man U.

Chilwell - Decent player, but 50m is way more than his market value. We will see how he does for Chelsea.

One where the fans seemed to get it wrong was schalke fans with fuchs, brilliant player but they didnt seem to rate him that highly.

Well good for you. I’ve only seen him play on Atalantas champions league games and can’t say he stood out. If we want a left back or left wing back we should probably sign someone who specialises in that position rather than a rwb/rb/rm/lm/lwb/on the bench a lot of the time kind of player.

The reason he spent time on the bench is because Gosens is much better, he still played a decent number of games at LWB and is solid.

If any of you want to stand Stringer for a bit, Kristoff Terreur is on the forum to talk about Castagne. Alternatively, he'll likely be on the bbc euro football podcast on fridays.

Similar things were said about praet last year.

Is that meant to be a slant on Praet? If so I don’t get it Praet has done exactly what he was signed to do?

What??? We don't need a successor to Ricardo as we aren't selling him, and this guy is a LB/LM so how could he be a successor to a RB? Justin will remain a back up to Ricardo, we will keep Fuchs as back up to this Castagne or whoever comes in at LB.

Praet has not offered anything yet,so far he is not any better than Silva.

not sure about this transfer either.hope he will be fine

Not any better than Silva? He's already provided more goals and assists than him. He will get better next season too with more games available.

Another Belgian journo reporting it's advanced.

Says we had a word with him last season

Only concern of that interview is:

"Moreover, Castagne had a preference to play on the right and Leicester saw him mainly as a reinforcement for the left flank"

Whereas we see him as being utilised for both flanks

Not a chance. Castagne has been opening saying he is leaving for a good 9 months, they would much rather we took him than Gosens.

The level of intelligence from some posters on this forum at times can certainly be concerning.
