The summer music festivals seem confident all will be well as they have announced they are going ahead.

It is very encouraging to hear this sort of thing. I just hope that everything carries on going so well with the vaccines etc and we can follow the "roadmap".

I read (somewhere) that there are companies who specialise in supplying books to make you bookshelf look sexier/cooler/cleverer in the background of your zoom calls!

Yvette Amos didn't get the memo though....

Maybe the PM could do a zoom session with well-thumbed copies of Escort and Razzle visible on his bookshelf in the background!

Sounds good - it just 'feels' like more than the 3 months its scheduled away.

I’m not normally a pessimist but am still concerned that over time the variants beat the vaccines

Another way of looking at it is that for every variant, the scientists learn more about the virus and therefore over time they will be able to create a vaccine which is fully protective.

Equally there’s a chance that it goes variant/change too many and becomes a weaker threat.

Yeah, I realise that it could go that way and hopefully it will. The negative thought is probably fuelled by lockdown fatigue 👍

So we’re (Leicester) fourth in the table of highest  infection rates and the government have not ruled out localised lockdowns.

Mass testing in North West Leicestershire also to take place. The region having one of the worse infection rates.

I thought Leicester was still in a lockdown.

We know what’s coming Mark.  I can see it now. The June re opening of the Uk with Leicester back where it belongs in lockdown.  The holidays all cancelled from LE postcodes. The Leicester lepers part two.

I know what you mean - perfectly understand the optimism from the dates but we’ve been here before, so just still keeping my head down

Outdoor transmission is basically non existent.

You could put a day festival on tomorrow and the impact providing everyone was sensible on transport etc would be minimal to non at all

After a lot of thought, I have decided I am fully in favour of forced mandatory vacations.

Everyone should have one.

Took me longer than it should have

to be fair Covid is the least of your worries in what you can catch at a festival.
