Brighton and Potter will eventually suffer the same fate as Howe and Bournemouth & Swansea before them. Credit to them trying to play tidy football but they’re going to leak goals, even in this back 3 formation.

I'm not sure Everton will be near the top 6. They're on a high and have momentum from the signings they've made in the summer. Once that goes I'll think they'll struggle and end up between 7th and 10th.

They don’t look brilliant. Plus their defence is shite....

How bad is

A) Jordan Pickford

B) Brighton's defending from crosses

2 massive weaknesses in 2 otherwise very decent sides

Everton are a side full of big physical players.. a lot of sides will struggle to defend crosses against them. One of LCFC’s biggest weaknesses. Three of the 4 goals we’ve conceded have come from crosses, the 4th as a result of a headed clearance, again from a cross.

Yeah absolutely my point is just, it's remarkable given what we've paid vs what Chelsea or United have.

Incredible business, I joke a lot about our transfers etc and feign impatience during windows but we really are in all seriousness one of the best ran clubs in world football. Much like Dortmund IMO  👌

Brighton do try to play the right way. They play through the lines and also want to play out of the back so credit to them.

The problem is they always look like they want to score the perfect goal. Yes Maupay goal was scrappy but that was the first time they actually played the ball into the box. Even set pieces they don't ever play the ball into the box.

They flatter to deceive and are actually frustrating to watch. They create all there own problems.

And they've got Jordan Pickford. This obsession with playing out from the back and teams seem to be overlooking the fact that goalkeepers need to be good at saving shots before anything else.

Perfect illustration right there .... they play around at the back without ever trying to break through the lines imo

Sounds like Chilly had a decent game today. Good luck to him. He always seemed to play better for England than for us. Perhaps he’ll do well at Chelsea. Of the “top 6” they’re the ones I least dislike.

Can't believe he was taking all the corners. The cheeky fecker could cross a football all along. He was just pretending to hit the first defender every time. What a joker!!

Add Garth Crooks waistline to that list as well.

That's a quality goal.

Thought James might not have a big impact at Everton given his career trajectory but he has impressed a lot so far, not just with his quality but he is putting a shift in and dealing with the physicality just fine.

If Calvert Lewin carries on scoring they'll be favourites for Europe.

Yeah, goal and assist and good luck to him.  It does make you wonder about the post Christmas period when he was very average compared to 2019 and whether that was due to his head being turned by Chelsea interest.  We can't know but if that were the case then he let us down.

im pretty sure one of the ITKs did actually say he’s had his head turned now you mention it...
