jammie82uk 1,559 Posted 16 January Report Share Posted 16 January Surprised at all the comments saying it’s not a red Law 12 states Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play. It used to occur before an advert break. Now he shouts it then they cut to the players just standing around.

Think the issue. As ever. Is inconsistency. Luke Shaw will be on the pitch tomorrow when he should be serving a 3 match ban Edited 16 January by AjcW
BenKimbo 11 Posted 16 January Report Share Posted 16 January Only no broken bones because Azpilicueta didn’t plant his leg. Robinson didn’t know if his leg was planted or not so he would have made this type of challenge either way. Red card is the right decision.
Spiritwalker 779 Posted 16 January Report Share Posted 16 January What ever happened to players being yellow carded for waving imaginary cards?

So you can put in a perfectly timed challenge that wins the ball and gets a red. If tackle that is hard regardless of result is a red then fair play.

Once we get out of lockdown, get the fans back and can have a normal break and pre-season things will be much better for everyone involved. FWIW, as a neutral looking in, that sounds about right. As long as there's no falling out in the squad and he keeps everyone on side I imagine you're right. You've got the advantage of knowing the relegation places are already more of less wrapped up so it's basically a free season tbh.

I watch enough football to know that that type of challenge results in a yellow card. Shaw's was worse than that.
Kingleicester 327 Posted 16 January Report Share Posted 16 January Never understood the hype with this Chelsea side, i thinks there very boring to watch tbf, zero players with any flare
Goober 1,858 Posted 16 January Report Share Posted 16 January I've seen Chilwell's chipped in with a few goals and assists this season but he offers absolutely nothing going forward whenever I seem to watch him. Was the same the majority of his time here in his last season or so as well. When he came through I feel like he was far more impressive going forwards? Or am I remembering it wrong
