Lets be honest, both tackles are pretty agricultural . Hamza can be a bit crude at times Hamzas tackle was a trip to stop an attack there is literally 2 a game minimum in the Premier leauge including countless by Liverpool players. It was not even in the same ball park of intent and nastiness as trents on albrightons (I think might have been Barnes). Klopp is a brilliant motivator and what he has achieved at Liverpool is quite remarkable but he needs to cool it with mind games. he thinks he's Jose but He's shit at it just comes across as whiny, entitled, pampered little asshole.
ALC Fox 1,346 Posted 13 November 2020 Report Share Posted 13 November 2020 Watching it back, Hamza was reckless but he started to make his tackle before Salah nipped the ball away from him, at which point he's already committed. At worst it was a reckless yellow and in most cases wouldn't have injured the guy on the receiving end. This is only coming up again because we play them next and their new DVD is coming out soon. It looks like Hamza's only just getting his confidence back after a few nasty challenges resulting from his desire to win the ball while playing for us and England U21s (I don't believe for a second that he's a dirty player). We don't need this rearing it's ugly head again but if it becomes a thing, I hope Brendan brings Hamza on at some stage and he absolutely bosses it. No injuries, just a calm, confident, consummate performance.

He certainly has been better late & I attribute that to the coaching staff.
coolhandfox 2,827 Posted 13 November 2020 Report Share Posted 13 November 2020 Unless a manager is willing to hold his own players to account for bad tackles or diving it means little when they try to hold other players to account.

blue army 1988 91 Posted 13 November 2020 Report Share Posted 13 November 2020 There's no reporter in the land that would listen to Klopps rant then counter it by asking about the trent standing on one of our players. Media reporters are a soft touch and stary eyed when it comes to the so called top 6 teams.
BigGibbo 83 Posted 26 November 2020 Report Share Posted 26 November 2020 Time for Hamza to get a full season at championship level under his belt methinks. Still think there's a player in him but he's clearly not benefiting from being a bit part player and is in danger of regressing like Demari did now.

Jonaldinho 673 Posted 26 November 2020 Report Share Posted 26 November 2020 Not good enough on the ball, not good enough positionally when defending. He'll do well to ever become a regular in the Premier League let alone here.
Will1981 631 Posted 26 November 2020 Report Share Posted 26 November 2020 I thought he did well today, 1st half he worked hard and showed for the ball and did not hide like Praet did, 2nd half he was better when Tielemans played deeper and allowed him to press the game further forward.
deanolegend1989 780 Posted 26 November 2020 Report Share Posted 26 November 2020 He’s not good enough really but he’s decent enough as cover for when Wilfs back fit.
dnewty 191 Posted 26 November 2020 Report Share Posted 26 November 2020 He really struggled tonight, worry for him when Wilf comes back because I don't think he'll even be on the bench.
Webbo 16,694 Posted 26 November 2020 Report Share Posted 26 November 2020 It meant that Mendy got a night off, seeing as we've qualified, that's good enough.
Philkeavo 26 Posted 26 November 2020 Report Share Posted 26 November 2020 Love Hamza, he is all endeavour and full on effort and lets not forget he is one of our own. I always feel he is one tackle away from a red card mind

Hales 903 Posted 26 November 2020 Report Share Posted 26 November 2020 He did alright today and as a third choice behind Ndidi and Mendy he is ok 🤷♀️
Ric Flair 20,428 Posted 26 November 2020 Report Share Posted 26 November 2020 Poor first half, decent 2nd half. Was immense in the home game vs them and did well away in Athens. He's doing what a solid squad player should do, whether he will improve just on bit part football is debatable but he has the coaches here to give him the best chance of doing so.

I’d have Hamza over Mendy. I think Hamza was quality away in Athens and was decent enough today too. Mendy in the team slows everything down and we look turgid going forward. We look free flowing in every europa league games and better with Hamza. Hamza has his limitations too but is better than Mendy for me, but still miles behind Wilf. Wilf is far above both of them but Hamza is first cover for me. 1
