According to Super Deporte, Silva could either leave Leicester as a free agent this summer or extend his contract for one more year. The latter would suggest Valencia are in negotiations with Leicester to take him on a loan deal.

Is he out of contract already? Transfermarkt says his contract is until June 2021 so surely we'd get a fee

Yeah - it ends next summer. He would have been released by now if ended this year.

No fee and 50% off his wages would still be beneficial for someone who does nothing except drain the wage budget (Not really his fault of course)

...for all the people wondering why Silva is not in our first team!!!

It seems we might have to pay teams to take him off our hands, despite the transfer debacle, he was just not good enough.

‘Still no agreement’ between Leicester player and club for transfer – Foxes already gave approval for sale

Adrien Silva has no future at Leicester City and with a contract until 2021, the Foxes will have to find a solution for him before the window closes on Monday.

Sampdoria are one of the sides credited with an interest in signing the midfielder.

On September 22nd, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Serie A side are finding the negotiations to take the player ‘complicated’ due to the ‘number of agents’ involved in the deal.

TuttoMercatoWeb have the latest on this case and explain that Brendan Rodgers’ side have already given their approval for the 31-year-old’s sale.

However, ‘there is still no agreement’ between the Portugal international and Claudio Ranieri’s side over personal terms.

It’s claimed the negotiations between the two parties continue, but both Silva and the Italian club, at the moment, are standing firm with their ‘respective positions’.

Despite the current situation, TMW explains Silva and Sampdoria will continue discussions to ‘try to close’ the deal between today and tomorrow.

Silva, who spent the last 18 months on loan at AS Monaco, has already expressed his desire to leave Leicester, and he has less than a week to complete his exit from the King Power Stadium.

Love the managerial twist in the middle of this tale.

I sometimes wonder whether Silva could fit into our team and be at the level we need, mostly looking at the level he’s proven himself at before. Then you look at us when we’re really playing well and it’s clear he’s nowhere near the level of our other options.

Sounds like it’s him and his agents are the issue . I have also read in numerous reports he has several agents that are difficult to deal with . This is probably the same reason the paperwork was 14 minutes late when we signed  him and lots our fans decided it was our fault .

Just get rid soonest to anybody as long as it saves us money.  If he serves out the full contract term, I suspect we will get stiffed for a loyalty bonus!

I think we still have to pay it even if he goes. Unless he puts in an actual transfer request, he's entitled to it.

That's why even players that are desperate to leave rarely put in transfer requests.
