Stuntman_Mike 1,379 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January Semi finals tonight and tomorrow then. Brentford are usually good fun to watch so looking forward to their game. It'll be interesting to see how Spurs approach it.

Especially Laura Woods shouting down Jamie Redknapp.... she either ****ing hates him or they're shagging, I can never quite work it out every time they're on together she has a dig at him.

StanSP 28,573 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January (edited) Sissoko goal. Good header. Nice cross from Reguilon. Edited 5 January by StanSP
AjcW 5,539 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January This isn't reactionary because i've liked him since he was at Blackburn. But David Raya would make a fantastic Kasper replacement when the time comes.

trabuch 2,527 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January His knee will be given off. Very harsh.
RowlattsFox 2,504 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January Jammy bastards. Toney should've scored with the free header though.
Manini 3,716 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January Nice introduction to VAR there for Brentford. Imagine having to put up with it every week lads.
Arkie Bennett 590 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January Back off Brentford, can't have you upsetting one of the "big 6".
Paddy. 14,670 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January What percentage of his wages do you reckon Thomas Frank spends on gum per week,? I'm saying at least 25%. He's like a machine.
Super_horns 927 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January Tight call there - was the knee offside? Brentford could be level.
StanSP 28,573 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January Dodgy there considering defenders knee can't fully be seen? I think it's very, very marginal.
Bats8711 445 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January I'm sorry but that is an incorrect implementation of VAR. While you can infer / guess that the Spurs defender's foot was ahead of his knee, on the VAR view, the Brentford player's knee blocks it. They just drew the line from where the Spurs player's body disappears behind the Brentford player. Inconclusive, stick with call on field. Should be very simple.
Carl the Llama 9,585 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January I've defended VAR in most instances but I don't see how they can proceed with that call when we can all see the view of the defender's foot is obstructed making an accurate line impossible.
RowlattsFox 2,504 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January To be honest unless the defender has size 15 feet I thought it looked pretty clear the knee was ahead.

Paddy. 14,670 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January VAR has killed this game then. Nice one Peter Banks.

StanSP 28,573 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January Game over. Did the Brentford player try to 2 foot Son to bring him down
Carl the Llama 9,585 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January Just now, RowlattsFox said: To be honest unless the defender has size 15 feet I thought it looked pretty clear the knee was ahead. Oh wait are they saying the striker was off, I thought Lloris touching it played him on and they were reviewing the attacker nearer Lloris?

Nah they reviewed Toney because he got the header after Lloris saved the other header. They pause it from when the other header was made.
trabuch 2,527 Posted 5 January Report Share Posted 5 January I guess that is Brentford's first experience of VAR. They wouldn't be used to the crushing disappointment, and it must have been extra difficult for them.
