moore_94 Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 Choudhury on Southampton's radar Leicester midfielder Hamza Choudhury is on Southampton’s radar as they look to replace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg following his departure to Tottenham. Choudhury is highly rated at the King Power Stadium and a homegrown player for their quota but Brendan Rodgers is also well-stocked in central midfield with Wilfred Ndidi, Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet ahead of the England Under-21 international. Rodgers could listen to offers for Demarai Gray, who has a year left on his contract, to boost his spending power in the market. Islam Slimani is also back from his loan at Monaco and may attract some of the teams looking for a forward ~ Can’t see us letting him go permanently, loan could be worth it but I think he will get plenty of game time this season anyway

Guest SO1 Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 No way. We need depth. Plenty of match time for him this season.
FrankieADZ Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 dont believe that tbh.think Saints have a few from there U23's that are more than able to fill in and have tbf

RowlattsFox Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 There is no way we loan him to Southampton, that would be ridiculous.
coolhandfox Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 A loan would be a great option. He's competing with Maddison, Ndidi, Tielemans, Praet and Mendy for two or three midfield places.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 Can see him leaving eventually but not this window unless we make signings.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 I don't rate him that highly, but we'd be mad to let him leave, we need all the bodies we can get. This ain't happening.
TazzerFox Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 Not too fussed about him leaving, but only if we have replacements lined up

Yeah 5 players for 3 positions, we'll be playing every 3 or 4 days most the season, no way that's enough depth in numbers for a full season long schedule. RoboFox Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 He's replaceable, absolutely no doubt, but there seems to be a severe player drought at the club - and for that reason alone - I think we'll keep hold, thanks.

Kopfkino Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 I don't see where he fits here, Mendy is a better backup to Ndidi and he is not capable of replacing Tielemans or Maddison. He runs around, loves a good tackle but otherwise there's not much there
ealingfox Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 Need him for the homegrown quota so I'd be surprised.
AKCJ Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 Suppose they want to replace Hojbjerg. Interesting to know the price because I wouldn't say no to the right one.
Popular Post Sharpe's Fox Posted 8 September 2020 Popular Post Share Posted 8 September 2020 I personally don’t think we should keep midfielders who can’t receive and pass the ball in one movement. Hamza basically is Danny Simpson with platform shoes and an afro.

Jazzy_Jeff Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 I’d keep him purely to come on for 20 mins and charge round like a lunatic. That and for when we play Newcastle
justfoxes Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 Just wondering what his financial value is to Leicester and how much would actually see him be sold to the likes of Southampton, possibly in the range of £20-25m?

tetly Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 If we can get a better replacement then I would sell. He seems a bit reckless not sure Brendan trusts him.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 I think if he was to be sold it would be in the region of 5-10m
Stadt Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 We need at least 4 players for the EL homegrown quota so I can't see it happening. If they put in a bid of around £15m we'd have to consider it though and I don't rate him that much
Blue ROI Posted 8 September 2020 Share Posted 8 September 2020 Of all the younger players he was the one who didn't really prosper the way others did. I'd have Mendy ahead of him. Better at passing and less volatile when tackling. He might only be a Dragovic or Bennett type figure at Southampton.
