Vardy was amazing. Thought Tielemans was our best player today, he bossed it. Pinpoint summary With the window still open hopefully we can add depth and with the likes of Ricardo and Evans due back we actually do have a lot to be positive about, regardless of what the bedwetters say. majaco 906 Posted 13 September 2020 Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 ...I'm going to be a smug git here for a moment. Lawro predicted we would win. This could be a strange season.

Dan LCFC 11,691 Posted 13 September 2020 Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 We really needed that. Thought the second half was total control. It was a very similar game to the Palace win in July. It's about time we won away again.
fox_up_north 548 Posted 13 September 2020 Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 I do wonder if the lockdown buggered Barnes a bit. I heard the stat he hadn't scored since the Villa game, the one right before the first big lockdown. That was a big moment for him and he might have had his confidence knocked massively. He definitely needs to either mix it up in his shots and not be worried about missing or have some more specialised training. This is the kind of thing that needs confidence - similar to Nacho, I suppose.

I still fancy us with our quality to whack a few teams, if we can nick some more 1-0's and 2-1's that will make such a difference.

They're too focused on us not being perfect first half. Our team has spoilt the frenzy of moaning our boo boys we're banking on
Popular Post HighPeakFox 10,451 Posted 13 September 2020 Popular Post Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 Worried, it has all the echoes of Bolton 2001... Did it heck. Seriously good for 60 minutes, first away win since way back when, first opening day win since 2015, clean sheet, a patchwork team still had way too much for WBA, and we can buy more players and improve further. Enjoy the day everyone, even the miseries who decided we'd lost before the fact. 9

StriderHiryu 16,893 Posted 13 September 2020 Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 Great debut goal from Castagne. What I love is that he actually heads it into the empty corner, just to be sure. Top quality player from what seems to be a superb player.

It doesn't single handedly wipe away any criticism, but it does give us something to work with going forward. I was surprised quite how bad West Brom were. Bleak times for them on that showing. Ajayi was one of the quickest players in the Championship, Barnes made him look about 60 years old. At least they appreciate Barnes, loads of our expert lot reckon he's sh1t
whoareyaaa 2,366 Posted 13 September 2020 Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 players settled in after 30 minutes and controlled the game, we looked class. motm for me was Mendy, everyone played well though.
Blue ROI 1,810 Posted 13 September 2020 Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 Wasn't looking forward to this especially with Wilf playing in defence but that's the best we've played in ages. Ropey first 20 minutes but after that all about us. Castagne looks a great addition. Mebdy superb and Vardy doing what Vardy does best. Happy for the squad playing so well but West Brom were just the pits. A good start but bigger tests await.
Bossman Blessed It 373 Posted 13 September 2020 Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 Some real successes individually in there and perhaps all the anxiety/nerves we had before the season ignored the fact that when we're playing well, we're a dominant team. There were moments where we looked leagues ahead of West Brom, which was excellent. Brilliant to see Maddison back in the mix too. Of all, I thought Tielemans was absolutely outstanding and controlled the every aspect of that midfield. So happy for him.
Finnaldo 3,150 Posted 13 September 2020 Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 The Leicester special under Rodgers in that it took some time to get in gear, but an absolutely domineering performance second half, reminded me of the first half of last season in that we never looked in doubt after about 30 minutes. However, WBA look the pits and select few teams will allow us the luxury of playing Ndidi at CB without being punished. We really do need a couple more signings for depth. Excellent response from Rodgers and the team though. Exactly how we needed to start this season off. A lot of fears have been alleviated on my end.
Manini 3,393 Posted 13 September 2020 Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 Don’t think it can be understated how important the Belgium games have been for us. Perfect opportunities for Tielemans, Praet and Castagne to build some confidence, match fitness and sharpness surrounded by good players. Those three looked excellent today for me. Mendy was also very good and Jamie Vardy is just the ****ing king.
Bob Weasel Fox 4,028 Posted 13 September 2020 Report Share Posted 13 September 2020 Great start to the season now if we add 2/3 more players before window shuts then maybe we could have a really good season ? Maybe . . .
