Grealish is the saviour of England, he’s the next Gazza/Beckham if only Southgate would realise it :frusty:

Maddison is a top quality top half premier league attacking midfielder, he was level with Grealish but over the past 6 months Grealish had taken his game to another level, whereas Maddison thinks he’s better than he actually is. For evidence if this, my barber (a West Ham fan) agrees :-)

10 assists in 71 PL games is poor for our most advanced midfielder.

How many from open play? He does need to improve, he has been garbage for the majority of 2020 when he has played. Needs to stay injury free and harness his ability and confidence.

I find Maddison's general attitude a touch annoying. He's like a cocksure estate agent who's constantly sniffing and brushing powder away from his lapels while he tells you about his 'boss man' sales record from last month and jangles the keys of his new car in your face.

His cockiness is inversely proportional to his love for LCFC. I think he would jump ship for a slightly better deal in a heartbeat.

Technically brilliant but a bit of an embarrassing wally. Grealish also seems to be cut from the willy puller estate agent template but in fairness is a much more accomplished player. I hate to say it but Villa look very good this season and I hope Maddison proves me wrong in the long term.

You've come up with some bizarre analogy about a person you know f*** all about.

He's one of the most active players on social media regarding us, especially when he was injured he was completely immersed in the games and you saw after Man United how gutted he was we lost.

I don't doubt that the guy is ambitious and wants to play at the top, but this is just silly.

Hi Madders, that's just my my impression from social media and interviews etc. What else can we build our opinions from? If you think my analogy is bizarre then I think you are being dishonest. Good luck in the next game and for the rest of the season #respect

I reckon many are doing Maddison a dis-service. Its now clear he was been carrying an injury since at least the turn of the year.

He missed our last season games Run in,und the start of this season.....Grealish's Star has rightly shined, over These last few months & should be Now settled

in the England Set up...(Southgate has been blind ) Maddison has just not been around...so no comparison...

We have a gem in Maddison...he needs now a few Games behind him before we again see his True talents,

Plus he needs to have Tielemans,Praet & Barneswith him, those 3 will give him Space which would then See a Nacho or Slimani profit, from what our best Front 6 can deliver...( If Vardy goes missing)

Nope, that’s just a perception thing, so that’s on you

Sure, all very good points. My initial criticism is basically how he projects his personality in public which I find unlikable. As I said, I hope he proves me wrong because I liked him initially.

Correct, it was a response

A worthless one, because I already copped to that when I stated that it was my opinion. It's axiomatic that's it's a perception thing as you call it. I didn't think I would need to state that twice but 2020 is full of surprises it would seem.

Best Championship season:

Maddison: 14 goals 8 Assists

Grealish: 6 Goals 7 Assists

Best Premier League Season

Maddison: 7 Goals 7 Assists

Grealish: 8 Goals 6 Assists

Sorry but come on, was it not Maddison who created one of the highest amounts of chances in Europe? They both make things happen and are both good players. Grealish is a very good player and perhaps a more rounded player, with more all around game involvement, but he's also older and been playing football in the first team for a lot longer.

It’s not always the end product stats you need to look at. Grealish drives at defences and create space for others. He also draws the most fouls in the league. I like Maddison and he’s a good player but he’s not a patch on Grealish. He won’t be at Villa for long.

Find that unlikely. He is a died in the wool fan unlike Maddison

I can’t find open play assist stats anywhere unfortunately

As good as Grealish is he drives me mad with his constant cheating, every game he rolls around like he’s been hacked down

I really loathe the bloke if I’m honest

That can be drummed out of him.

He looks like a right twat with that hair and beard but if you wouldn't have him in our team you'd be mental. Like a good Robbie Savage.
