It’s great that we’ve come so far as a club that we have built higher expectations, but people need to remember just who we actually are, and what we are up against.

With current injuries, you are correct.

 

But I think we have a chance if we are back to full fitness by the time we get to the knock out phase.

This season is going to be a long hard slog. We’ve not had a fully fit squad since day 1, and we’ve still got to face many, many more weeks of 3 games within 8 day periods.

 

We won’t win the Europa League, I think we all know that, but a decent run in the competition will more than likely cost us a top 6 place.

However seeing us finally have a plan B indicates to me that these games might actually define our season. Especially if we start to use that plan B in a game like tonight, where traditionally we would try to be expansive and get found out (like against WH and Villa)

The majority of our points should be coming against the mid table and bottom half sides - I’m worried about our performances against them. Taking more points than we’d expect against the big 6 is no good if we drop points to Newcastle or Sheffield United. 
 

I don’t think we were expansive against Villa and we didn’t manage a shot on target against West Ham. Being more conservative will suit us sometimes but will lead to Puel like games and results which is no good

Don't understand your dismissiveness of the Europa League? I think we have every chance of winning it. Why are you so sure we won't? What is your reasoning? 

 

I think we've got enough depth in the squad to cope with injuries. Despite our current injury list, we still have quality back up that has more than stepped up. After the international break we'll have Ricky P back as well Catagne. Those two together will make a huge difference to the way we play, it'll give us positive attacking options in both wing back positions. 

 

I'm really optimistic, think this is the best squad we've ever had and have the potential to have a great season. Especially with other 'big teams' fumbling. 

 

I've gone for 5th, I don't think we'll quite make top 4. But I think we'll do well in EL.

 

I think we'll play youth in the cups which will mean we will exit early.

Went for 9th too. Injuries have screwed us over as the squad players are having to play every week, rather than in the EL games we expect to win. As a result, we can't rotate the squad and the players who are still currently fit will be knackered by Xmas. I also think that competition for top half places is much higher this year. Clubs like Everton, Wolves and even Southampton and Villa look stronger this season and then there is Leeds. All of these teams also have the benefit of focusing solely on the PL, rather than playing every 3-4 days like us.

All depends on how many games and at what level of performance we can get out of Vardy. 

When he plays, and he's on his game, we could beat anyone. 

Without him, I'm not sure we've got enough goals in us to push top 4. 

 

A fit Vardy playing in the majority of games - top 4.

Leicester without him for the most of the season - 7th or 8th

(which would still be a very decent season)

That being said, I think this season will be the inverse of last season and we’ll finish stronger than others with the likes of Ndidi, Ricardo, Soyuncu all coming back to fitness. If we can stay in the top 6 until those three are back and through to the EL knock out stages, I reckon we’ve got a good chance of competing on both fronts.

Why not? Serious question, fair enough if it was the Champions league but you're doing us down there

 

We are the 4th favourites and behind Spurs and Arsenal who we know we can beat and AC Milan are a big name but again far from unbeatable.

I've been reasonably optimistic and put 6th. We are struggling with injuries and have the Europa, but given how crazy things have been in this season already I think almost anything could happen. I wouldn't be massively surprised given our injuries if we finished 9th or so but I think over a whole season we should have the quality to stay top half for sure.

 

I would be reasonably happy with top 8 and a couple good runs in the Europa and FA cup.

11th Or lower. With the squad we have, unacceptable. Unless we win a trophy under 10th is a major fail.

There are already some very tough teams in the Europa League, with a lot more European experience than us, and that’s without the teams dropping into it from the Champions League.

 

When it gets to the deeper stages, and you’re playing teams of the likes of Atletico Madrid (Who we are guaranteed to draw...), Inter Milan, Porto, Shaktar Donetsk, Napoli, Benfica, Leverkusen etc etc, that’s where you come unstuck. Especially if covid is still around, and they could be one-legged neutral/away games.


Not to mention the fact that we haven’t got to a domestic final in nearly 20 years, let alone a European one...........

There are some very good Champions League teams that drop into the Europa League aswell remember.

We won’t be 4th favourite when that happens.
