SheppyFox 3,459 Posted 8 November 2020 Report Share Posted 8 November 2020 Great save mate, was expecting you to pass it to a wolves player in your own penalty area 5 minutes after though 😉

The ball was in the air and I was shouting for him to claim it, with a running jump he has a massive advantage there but take nothing away from the save immediately afterwards, fantastic!! Absolutely my thoughts at the time too, it was precisely his reticence to come off his line in the first place that gave them the opportunity to shoot in the first place. That's not to be a dig, merely stating facts.

Liverpool, Man U etc. None of them would want him as first choice and none Have made offers for him.

Popular Post moore_94 3,855 Posted 8 November 2020 Popular Post Report Share Posted 8 November 2020 https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kasper-schmeichel-set-skip-international-4681880 Kasper Schmeichel set to skip international duty to avoid missing key Leicester City games Kasper Schmeichel will not travel to Denmark for their international fixtures as things stand so he is not forced to miss key Leicester City games. The goalkeeper, who kept a clean sheet in the win over Wolves on Sunday, was due to join up with his country for their Nations League games over the next fortnight, but at the moment will stay at home. A mutation in Covid-19 that has infected Denmark’s mink population has prompted the UK government to place a 14-day quarantine on anybody arriving from the country, a ruling that includes all sportspeople. If Schmeichel travelled to Denmark for their games, he would then miss City’s potential top-of-the-table clash with Liverpool when Premier League football resumes. The Danish FA, the DBU, have said they are waiting on clarification from the English FA to see if the rules would change. “The DBU’s management has in the last few days been in dialogue with both UEFA, the English Football Association, English authorities and others,” the DBU statement read. “As DBU has not received the necessary answers from the English Football Association, national coach Kasper Hjulmand has been forced to select a number of extra players for the test match against Sweden on Wednesday, if the English authorities do not have time to change the rules in the next few days.” After the win over Wolves, City manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed that as things stand, Schmeichel will not be heading abroad. “There’s a bit more dialogue on that,” said Rodgers. “At the moment, he wouldn’t travel to play in Denmark.” 5

moseeds 166 Posted 8 November 2020 Report Share Posted 8 November 2020 Schmeicel is a world class goalkeeper. The only reason he's not considered so is because he wasn't bought for £72 million like Kepa Arrizabalaga or Allison were. Would any team in the world take Kepa over Schmeicel?

No they wouldn't but that doesn't automatically make Schmeichel world class. Maguire was bought for £80 million but he's far from world class. I personally think he's just below world class, one of the best shot stoppers out there, but struggles with crosses and corners, if he was better at them though he wouldn't be playing for us, he'd be at Madrid or Barca. HoustonFox 2,034 Posted 8 November 2020 Report Share Posted 8 November 2020 Pulled off a wonder save from Neves today but should probably claimed the ball right before when it was on his 6 yo line. Kicking still a bit rubbish but he’s a really good keeper and I’d rather have him than not and another we will need to do well to replace - especially his leadership
brucey 5,024 Posted 8 November 2020 Report Share Posted 8 November 2020 Players who will not be travelling to Denmark include Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, Chelsea's Andreas Christensen, Tottenham's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Everton trio Jonas Lössl, Robin Olsen and Gylfi Sigurdsson. Southampton defender Jannick Vestergaard, Newcastle's Emile Krafth, Burnley's Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Arsena's Runar Alex Runarsson will also not travel, while Manchester United said defender Victor Lindelof had already been excused from Sweden’s game in Denmark. Schmeichel reacted angrily to the prospect of missing the games on Sunday night, saying the decision was groundless. “It is politics, I don't think it has a lot to do with science," he said. “The Government has made a decision for now and I hope they come to their senses. We are very protected, we are in a bubble, we get tested all the time. I hope to be able to participate in at least one if not two of the games.” Schmeichel and others are expected to be released for their countries’ remaining November internationals, with Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho confirming on Sunday that Hojbjerg would link up with Denmark for their Nations League game in Belgium on Nov 18. Popular Post Ric Flair 20,419 Posted 8 November 2020 Popular Post Report Share Posted 8 November 2020 The man makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, absolutely love the bloke. A humongous legend, has got us over the line in so many games over the years and I dread the day we no longer have him. The best keeper of a generation for us and we've had some bloody good ones.

His distribution is above average at best but as a shot stopper I'd probably say he's in the top 10 keepers in the world so if you combine it all then we have a superb goalkeeper and a born winner. I think he will be a huge loss when he retires or leaves us in the next however many years. Distribution is important as a keeper but shot stopping wins you more points and he's done that time and time again for us.
