SydenhamFox 613 Posted 28 December 2020 Report Share Posted 28 December 2020 (edited) How do we do the impossible? What’s the best plan? Buy as similar player as we can get to the great man himself? Smash our wage structure and try and get someone like Haaland? Promote from within, eg, Play Barnes as a No.9? What else? There is no way someone like Haaland is coming here! Never in a million years, a player like that can pretty much pick and choose any club in world football. We maybe have to lower our expectations a tad.

Not even if we show them our new training ground and sell them the vision that we’ll build around them? 😂

If we leave it until Vardys retired we're screwed

adam 762 Posted 28 December 2020 Report Share Posted 28 December 2020 Barnes needs to stick to playing out wide. Were a decent side. Buy a forward. We don't have time trying to turn barnes into one.

foxes_rule1978 3,488 Posted 28 December 2020 Report Share Posted 28 December 2020 Replacing Vardy is going to be tough, but Barnes is coming through get in another winger with pace and goals, and a half decent goal scorer it won’t be too bad
Sol thewall Bamba 8,067 Posted 28 December 2020 Report Share Posted 28 December 2020 All the investment and progress we've made and we're still totally reliant on him. I am honestly dreading the day he retires.

But our legend is 34 very soon and it’s incredibly lucky for us that he’s still this good. Sadly, like all good things, it will pass.
HankMarvin 5,147 Posted 28 December 2020 Report Share Posted 28 December 2020 Hopefully we can clone him injury free and prime version by the time he retires

Paninistickers 2,349 Posted 28 December 2020 Report Share Posted 28 December 2020 Why worry about it? Cross that bridge when we come to it. Entirely possible we've got 4 or 5 more seasons out of him still. 1
Les-TA-Jon 1,176 Posted 28 December 2020 Report Share Posted 28 December 2020 There’s no ‘replacing’ Vardy, especially considering how unique he is. We can’t simply go a sign another striker of his level or reliability - that’s a £50m+ player. Finding/signing a reliable goal scoring striker is what every team in world football is constantly trying to do. I’d have loved us to go for Ings back in the summer, but he would probably be too expensive for his age and after almost winning the golden boot last season he wouldn’t have wanted to come here to sit on the bench
Dahnsouff 5,759 Posted 28 December 2020 Report Share Posted 28 December 2020 Not even about Vardy retiring, we just need to prolong his career and that means resting him a little more and having a valid alternative we can use.
