But would you have been happy with his ineffective displays nursing an injury up until then, because clearly something has been effecting his levels. He will win us more points later by having it now, than waiting and potentially making it worse in the meantime.

He’s contributed to the team over these past few weeks even if he hasn’t scored. When you don’t have one of the top strikers in the league, it’s always going to be disappointing. It’s not overly concerning. It’s our best chance of getting him back. Ayoze Perez is a natural striker. He doesn’t threaten the backline as quickly as Vardy, but he’s a great finisher. I‘ve got Kels who can offer a threat too." I think that is why we are in the market for a no.10 - Perez is going to lead the line for a few weeks which leaves us short for Maddison cover. Perez Barnes Maddison Albrighton with Iheanacho, Gray, AM, Under in reserve Have we signed Antony Martial?
Master Fox 1,334 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January Surely we must have someone lined up to come in on loan?
Aleksz 223 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January We’ve got big results in games against Newcastle, Southampton and Chelsea - In games where he didn’t turn up or take chances. Kel and Perez to battle out for the striker spot. Barnes and Madders to carry on supporting. We’ll be fine.

LVocey 96 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January I imagine this will see him out to around the Liverpool home game on the 13th. Worth doing now before Europa League starts up again, been obviously bothering him for weeks. Massive chance for Ayoze and Kelechi to fight it out for that spot

Detroit Blues 896 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January This is good in the long term IMO. Vardy's form has dropped off, and he's missing chances that he usually converts with relative ease. Hopefully this operation will get back the golden boot version of Vardy that will finish out the season for us. However, in the next couple weeks, I think Perez comes in. Perhaps: Barnes - Perez - Albrighton Maddison Ndidi - Tielemans Justin - Evans - Fofana - Castagne or: Barnes - Perez Maddison Ndidi - Tielemans Justin - Evans - Fofana - Soyuncu - Castagne
KingKoala 161 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January I'd prefer Perez over Nacho as a replacement ATM
filbertway 2,888 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January Wonder if we'll change systems to accomodate this. I would absolutely love Kel to get 4 or 5 games and find some kind of form. Do we go 3 4 1 2 Schmeichel Soy Fofana Evans Castagne Tielemans Ndidi Justin Maddison Barnes Nacho/Perez
Tom12345 1,284 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January Perez for Vardy upfront. Given Perez is not Vardy, we don’t need Albrighton as much. Bring Under in for Albrighton. Keep Barnes on the left. Slowly introduce Ricardo at RB and move Castagne to left.

Deeg67 2,976 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January Perez at the 9, with Under on the wing. Can't afford to have his firepower on the bench now.

martyn 1,521 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January (edited) Think we might be better off switching up to a 3-5-2 or even a 4-4-2 temporarily. The 3-5-2 looks more tempting now we've got more attacking options at full back again. Neither Perez or Nacho cut it as a lone focal point, and both look miles better when they've got support around them. Edited 22 January by martyn
LCFCJ 80 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January Don't let this scare any of you. But just think how poor we were against palace and how poor nacho was.

Lineker's Left Foot 292 Posted 22 January Report Share Posted 22 January For example normally players get injured they get injured, but has hit me now Vards has. He epitomises Leicester for me 😢 I just know he will come back stronger and raring to go and gives us the opportunity to highlight we’re not just a one man team.
