Burnley match thread - Wednesday 3rd March at 6pm

Their goal was gift wrapped and overall we're looking better than reasonably expected, OK Kaspers  had saves to make but we're well in the game, so long as legs don't go I'm feeling positive.

What was general opinion on the potential penalty shout for Tielemans?

It’s a clear free kick anywhere else on the field, 2 hands in the back and a push - penalty for me.

Think we are doing okay.

Hamza isn’t good enough on the ball in tight areas so can’t progress the play. Bar his mistake he hasn’t done much wrong, or right to be honest.

Think we got on top more when Youri dropped deeper, the guy is class.

The real technical basics don't seem to be there at times with Hamza, Rogers prides himself on developing players, as a 8-10 year old, as you're receiving the ball you're taught to check you're shoulder and if there is space, receive on the back foot, turn and play forwards, that is the difference between being 1-0 down v Burnley and playing in Nacho for either a goal scoring opportunity, or a throw in, in the Burnley half. If he wants to explain to him this principle, just get him to look at how Maddison receives the ball.

That’s it nothing because I’ve barely heard his name

Try watching the game, you won't learn much listening to Alan Smith.

I hate that Kasper is so obsessed on playing those floated passes out to our wingbacks. They are so predictable and often give Burnley the ball back in a dangerous area. Sometimes, just bloody hoof it and try win possession way up the field and away from our goal.

Poor half from us really. Hamza and Amartey really struggling to play Rodgers style. They just don't have the quality on the ball that is required.

Would like to see Fofana for Amartey sooner rather than later and somehow get Hamza off too but no idea who for, without changing the shape.

Positives - Iheanacho looks like he is having an ON day, and Castagne and Ricardo getting some joy down the wings

Negatives - One big one, oh boy do we look vulnerable when the ball goes into the box!

Go to a back 4. Bring on allbrighton and fofana. Take off hamza and amartey

3-1-4-2, and we’re just about decent, save that one of our 8s is miles off the pace. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Hamza subbed, though it’d be a shame to waste the legs he must have.

Ricardo is still a shadow of the player he was isn’t he? He needs games, we need patience!

My old Dad just phoned me up to say "who's this Shouldhurry, he's living up to his name"

Vardy very poor, hate him in games against defensive sides without space, he offers nothing and won't show for the ball to feet. Very frustrating. I know you can't criticise Sir Jamie without being rounded upon but he offers nothing in these sort of games and we're much more dangerous with a more rounded striker up front. Of course, there's nobody better for games when we're under pressure and on the break. Feel long term we need somebody who can do both well.

Even considering all the injuries we have the better players, the game is ours to lose... Tavares and Albrighton / Under on please. Hamza and Mendy are clogging the creativity too much and defensively the two of them aren't making up for this

His movement created the space for the goal...  but yeah, we need a new striker in the summer.

No need to change anything now were moving the ball quicker and look dangerous when we do.

Just need a defensive leader, but then we have ever since Huth

I’m watching, plenty of endeavour, plenty off misplaced passes.

One of those that would be a free kick if it happened in midfield. A shove in the back pushed him over, don't see why it's accepted as OK by the officials.

Plenty of possible changes we can make to get a hold of this game and stop them being given the ball, allowed to win all 50/50s and stop them crossing the ball into our box every 2 mins.

He literally walked a few paces forward with Ndidi shouting at him to do so, as the analysis said so. Hardly sublime movement. As usual though say anything bad about Vardy and its pitchforks out. He's not suited to these sort of games, thats a fact not an opinion.

We should test Pope more, he looked shaky in our goal. That Woods man is dangerous. Man of The match for Leicester is Nacho, not only for the goal but movements with Vardy.

Wow that was a tough watch. Time to blood some young flare, if we have any.

Thinking about recording the second half and watching it on fast forward, so it appears at full speed.

Really fed up of the sideways play at the back. In contrast Pope throws the ball out and sets up attacks. Nobody has broken into a run at all. Stop, look round, and start the process of getting it back to Schmeichel.

Don't want to be too negative because of the injuries, but are we up for this? They looked more switched on.

Also when will we win a header at either end; not bothered about scoring, just want to win a header?

Be glad when it's over.

Yep but what really are we expecting with no creative players. It is what it is. And that’s about shithousing some points.

If Rodgers is going to persist with this 11 for another 20-30 mins, then we can't play his usual style. There are players out there simply incapable of controlling the ball and passing it to the standard required to make this style work. It is actually causing us real issues and another mistake will lead to a goal at this rate.

Have to get Vardy in the game. Not sure if we can still give him the not fit excuse any more now.

Think we'll score again, problem is we're only a set piece or a cross away from conceding. Our defending aerially as per is shite
