Watched the new Blade Runner movie last night ... its rated really high on IMDB but tbh it lasted way too long and had no where near enough action.. was very dissapointed. Suzies rating maybe 5.5/10.

However in Croatia last week we went to see Star Wars 4D and that was super good. Not sure if it felt better since your seat was moving and stuff but was a really good experience.

The Greatest Showman - 9/10

Fantastic stuff if you like musicals, you leave the cinema in a very uplifted mood.

Poor.  It's game over for this franchise imo.

It was game over for the Saw franchise at Saw 1. Fantastic small film, brilliant cast, mind blowing twists and something that felt genuinely fresh at the time.

Nobody had the brains to tell them about the law of deminishing returns. (Though Saw 2 had an amazing twist). Nothing ever lived up to it again.

How much singing is involved?

I’d say there’s about 8 main songs but with a good portion of regular dialogue also. It’s not like Les Misérables where they sing every line.

Very mixed feelings about "The Darkest Hour".

Brilliant performance from Gary Oldman as Churchill, very good from Kristin Scott Thomas as Mrs. C, some good tension and atmosphere, but....

Most of the other characters, from Chamberlain and Halifax to Attlee and King George VI were cardboard cutouts, either cartoonish devious baddies interested only in doing Churchill down or lily-livered cowards wanting only to wave a white flag. Not only did a lot of the characters lack credibility, so did some of the scenes (notably the scene with all the salt-of-the-earth folk on the tube) and some of the plot (the King was supposedly wanting to do a deal with Hitler, then was so impressed by Churchill he did a complete volte-face?!)....that stuff was on the level of a soap opera or crap feelgood family entertainment.

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree and being too serious in expecting a better depiction of Churchill's predicament? But it was a really interesting subject - him dealing with a desperate situation and potential defeat. So why not do it justice by giving a bit more subtlety and realism to the other characters and avoid the bollocks on the tube and with the King? It was like a B-movie, but with a couple of brilliant individual performances in the middle of it.
