Rain stopped the chances of an exciting last day but we got a draw out of it.

Tom New performing well with 2 half centuries, one unbeaten. Nicko will have to work very hard.

Good old Jimmy back in the press.

He's off int he. :(

Jim Allenby is currently top of the Sky Sports Sixes League after a super Twenty20 campaign in 2009.

The table, which is produced in conjunction with the Times newspaper, records the amounts of maximums struck in the FPT, the Twenty20 Cup and Pro40 later this summer.

The all-rounder did not clear the ropes in the FPT, with his early season form suffering because of a side strain.

However, Allenby hit 20 sixes in the Twenty20 Cup, and that puts him top of the league, one ahead of Somerset's Peter Trego.

The duo's big-hitting has not been restricted to one-day cricket.

Although maximums in four-day cricket to not contribute towards the total, Allenby cleared the ropes five times in the Derbyshire draw.

Trego - who hit a century off just 54 balls against Yorkshire on Friday, like Allenby did against Notts in T20 - smashed nine sixes during the whirlwind knock which clinched a stunning three-wicket win as his team chased down the second highest total in Championship history as they scored 476.

Trego's innings sounds like something else - in a County Championship game!!

England under 19's playing Bangladesh at the moment. We're represented by Cobb & Taylor - Cobb opened the batting and is 74 not out.

I think you will find Nathan Buck is a Leicestershire player also :P

Hats off to you sir.

Cobb now not out on 96 and Taylor now in with him on 21.

Great to see.

Well his innings has come to an end - I think he went a bit mad towards the end and hit 3 sixes :D

He made 220 from 290 balls with 29 fours and 4 sixes. Good lad.

Top innings hopefully he can do this in a Leicestershire shirt  and lets hope it doesn't raise the eyebrows of Notts <_<

What a day down at Grace Road. O'brien and the bowlers were superb its just a shame the pitch was so good that it helped Middlesex aswell. There was a very important partnership between Cobb and New which helped us to a respectable score.

Might end up with a points deduction.

The ECB usually order pitch inspections when more than 15 wickets fall on the first day.

They never assume it's because of poor batting/ good bowling/ combination of both do they?

No wonder there are so many drawn games in the CC.
