Very true.

They do it cus they enjoy it and that's the only reason there has ever been.  They even used to import foxes for hunting from Scandanavia.  You could buy them at Spittalfields Market.

Vermin!  (Not the foxes).

We even exported them to Empire colonies where they didn't have them, so they could be hunted - New Zealand, for example.

Did we?

My sister lives in NZ and apparently the government are blanket poisoning huge areas of land to try to control non-indigenous predatory species.

Yep, same in Oz, though it's possible that was a misguided attempt to control the rabbit population (which we also introduced)..

New Zealand had no native mammal species at all because of its geographical isolation, which is why it has so many flightless and ground-nesting birds. Possums, rats and feral cats are also a huge problem.

Yep, the Red Fox was introduced to Oz for the purpose of recreational hunting:

I may have mislead you re. foxes in NZ though - I can't find confirmation of that.

The Lufkin Licker

Admittedly not on a par with many nominations in here but nonetheless pretty scummy

http://news.sky.com/story/lufkin-licker-faces-up-to-20-years-in-prison-as-ice-cream-stunt-video-goes-viral-11757104

Apart from the obvious point of the news story the fact that they sell ice cream in half gallon tubs over there says a lot.

Certainly scummy conduct, but I'm not sure 20 years in prison would be justified.

There is a grocery store somwhere on the Appalachian Trail (Pennsylvania, IIRC) where it is a hiker tradition to attempt the 'half-gallon challenge' - eating an entire tub in one sitting. 'Hiker hunger' is legendary but very few succeed.

  • 2 weeks later...

Alan Turing killed himself because this country forced him to be chemically castrated and persecuted him because he was gay. Without him, Britain would have lost the war, millions more would have died, and this cvnt would not have been able to write this tweet persecuting him for being too white and too Male. Shameful.

Here's 3 of them ...  bloodied knives attached to their wrists, what looks like suicide vests wrapped round their bodies, and a trail of death behind them ....     but this picture isn't about them ...    its about the unarmed off duty cop running towards them to try and stop/distract them the best he could.   Amazing courage !! ...   almost unbelievable ...    what can you say ...

Absolutely. Imagine complaining that someone isn’t oppressed enough and then choosing ALAN TURING as the target of your oppression olympics.

As predictable as ever, she protected her tweets and has made herself a victim of “misogynistic abuse” because people called her out on her shitty opinion. Vile.

Presumably she was made homeless, so seems like she might not have had a lot of choice in the matter.

Without knowing the finer points I'm inclined to agree with Buce, if you no longer have the means to effectively care for an animal it's selfish to cling to it and you could take far worse actions than leaving it somewhere safe to be rehomed, even if it is a bit sucky that the task is now imposed on your parents.
