I think they're just taking the piss over the British and their tea which is a bit dated considering how many people walk around with a cup of coffee in their hands especially young people.

My daughter never drinks tea.

Woman drinks and takes drugs whilst leaving her son alone with her friend's dangerous dog.

Can you imagine a more terrible experience that this poor child faced as he was mauled to death, alone?

A mother who drank wine and took cocaine as her nine-year-old son was mauled to death by an "extremely powerful" dog has been jailed.

Frankie Macritchie was left alone inside a caravan with the 45kg (seven stone) American bull terrier cross, known as Winston, in April last year.

He suffered dozens of bite wounds when the "out of control" dog attacked him.

Tawnee Willis, 31, from Plymouth, admitted neglect and was jailed for two years.

Sentencing at Truro Crown Court, Judge Simon Carr said leaving the boy alone with the dog was "the height of folly".

Willis's friend, Sadie Totterdell, 29, from Plymouth, was jailed for three years and banned from having a dog for 10 years.

She admitted to owning the "dangerously out of control" bulldog.

Simon Laws, QC, prosecuting, said Frankie was left alone in a caravan at Tencreek Holiday park near Looe, with Winston, who had previously attacked another boy.

The adults in his group drank, smoked cannabis and took cocaine in another caravan, the court heard.

Willis went to check on him at around 04:30 - around two and a half hours after she had last seen him, Mr Laws said.

"She told the police that when she opened the door she could see a lot of blood on the floor and she could see Frankie lying still," the prosecutor said.

He said Frankie's Playstation was still switched on and, as he was known to play standing up, raising his voice, it was possible this "innocent behaviour may have had something to do with what happened".

The court heard Totterdell fled "in shock" and took Winston across the fields before catching a train with him to Plymouth where she was later arrested.

Winston was later seized by police and destroyed.

He said Frankie, who weighed 47kg - just 2kg more than the dog - died from blood loss after sustaining 54 injuries, with the most serious to his head and neck.

Deni Matthews, defending Willis, said she had failed in that "fundamental principle" of protecting her child and had developed PTSD as a result of what happened.

"It is clear that this lady is simply swallowed by grief and remorse," he said.

Ali Rafati, defending Totterdell, said leaving Winston with Frankie had been the "most awful error of judgement".

A 20-year-old man has died, a woman has been raped and three people have been stabbed during two illegal "quarantine raves" that attracted 6,000 people.

Thousands flocked to Daisy Nook Country Park and Carrington in Greater Manchester late on Saturday.

The man at the country park died of a suspected drug overdose and the stabbings and the attack on an 18-year-old woman took place in Carrington.

Police said the illegal raves have had tragic consequences.

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Sykes condemned them as a clear breach of coronavirus legislation, adding officers "were met with violence, resulting in items being thrown and a police car being vandalised".

Police said about 4,000 people were at the Daisy Nook rave in Failsworth, Oldham, where there were no reported crimes.

There were, however, three separate stabbings at the Carrington site - one of which left an 18-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.

Police were able to find the man and give him first aid before paramedics arrived.

Two other men, aged 25 and 26, were hurt in separate stabbings and a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

"We are also investigating the rape of an 18-year-old woman... and we have specialist officers supporting her and her family," police said.

The region's deputy mayor for policing and crime, Bev Hughes, said the events industry had agreed "to blacklist any supplier who is involved with illegal raves".

She said "those reckless individuals" have "put a needless demand on vital police time," and "themselves and their communities in real danger".

But she praised communities helping clean up, saying: "We have seen the real Greater Manchester this morning."

ACC Sykes responded to suggestions police had been slow to act or allowed the events to go ahead in a lengthy statement on the force's website.

Greater Manchester Police had seen huge demand including a 60% surge in emergency calls from 17:00 BST on Saturday to 04:00 on Sunday, he said.

He said said the gatherings were carefully monitored but "we needed to balance the present public health emergency and our overall demand with ongoing incidents" during the pandemic.

Jonty Bravery: Tate Modern balcony teen 'smiled' after attack

A teenager "smiled and shrugged" after throwing a six-year-old from a 10th floor balcony at the Tate Modern, a court heard.

Jonty Bravery, 18, searched for the most vulnerable child at the London art gallery before "scooping up" the boy, the Old Bailey was told.

Prosecutors said the defendant, who admits attempted murder, had planned an attack well in advance.

A judge will pass sentence on Friday after hearing psychiatric reports.

In her opening remarks at the two-day hearing, prosecutor Deanna Heer said Bravery arrived at the Tate Modern on 4 August and made his way to the viewing balcony.

'No hesitation'

The court heard that CCTV footage showed him following young children and looking over railings.

Further video showed the victim - who had been visiting London from France - skipping ahead of his family along the platform towards Bravery.

Ms Heer said: "The defendant scooped him up and, without any hesitation, carried him straight to the railings and threw him over."

The boy "fell head-first towards the ground", landing on a fifth-floor balcony below, she said.

"CCTV also shows the defendant backing away from the railings, he can be seen to be smiling," Ms Heer said.

"He has his arms raised and appears to shrug and laugh. CCTV also captured the parents in disbelief and rising panic.

"They thought there must have been a net but saw their son's distorted body."

The boy, who still requires round-the clock care, was lucky to survive, said Ms Heer, who described the attack as "a whisper away from a murder".

She said the defendant admitted planning to commit an offence and had "narrowed it down to three possibilities".

These were "strangling a woman or a child, drowning a child or throwing someone off a tall building".

Ms Heer said Bravery's search history included results for methods of killing.

The prosecutor said medics appeared to agree that the defendant suffers from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a personality disorder, both of which are relevant to understand his behaviour.

The court heard Bravery has no previous convictions but had a history of assaulting his care workers - including one at a Burger King in Brighton in April 2019.

In a statement, the boy's family said Bravery's crime against their son was "unforgivable".

"Our son lives in fear of meeting other villains in his life," they said.

The hearing continues.

Just been declared a "Major incident" down here now. Just took a walk and town is gridlocked, people arriving at 2pm and expecting to park next to the pier and just driving round town trying to park. If Police/Ambulances needed to get anywhere they'd have no chance.

The beach is rammed 500m either side of the pier, but only proper downright scumbags ever go there anyway. A bit further along it's not actually that bad. Photos I took are too big for FT. Thing is there's nothing anyone in power can do about it. Police can't disperse people, council can't close carparks without passing bylaws if I'm not mistaken. Some of the groups of people down there must have been 50 or more strong, I guess people are just happy enough to risk it now.
