I've never heard of kickstarter but I presume it's a fan funded thing so games can be made. Surely he can find a developer to take it on? A remake of the previous games would sell like crazy & fund the project itself so I find it very strange.

Exactly my thoughts, I loved the Shenmue games & am chuffed 3 is on its way but you telling me Sony couldn't have funded it?

Seems weird but oh well Shenmue 3 is coming!

I believe the first game at the time for the most expensive ever made... so yep you would at least need 50 mill or so to make it into a true epic

Do these Kickstarters tend to jump in bursts or what? Feel like they need to announce or promote these stretch goals more because people who rarely use Kickstarter (which a lot of people won't have) will have no idea there's extra targets.

Playing Shenmue 1 after so many years is odd but brilliant. The controls are so clunky and the waiting around is a pain, but the atmosphere in the game is superb.

Agreed. I finished Shemue in a weekend when it was originally released. It's lost some of its charm & the waiting is just so annoying.
