Whilst I'm not a fan of rap music, I thought I'd post this for a friend of mine who is the rapper of this band and as they are a Leicester based band I thought even better. His name is James Scott-Howes. Some of you may know his other band 'Great Imitation'. Posting this on his behalf.

Rap by definitive is a series of rhythmic poetry not necessarily to a beat. A melody is a series of notes.

If you are trying to be clever, and actually mean the music behind rapping, then there are plenty of examples of hip hop tracks with a melody.

What the fact that you don't know what the difference between rap and hip hop, and how hip hop provides the melody with backing vocals etc.

If you're not a fan of hip hop nor rap, and want to make dismissive comments, fire away! There's nothing like close-mindedness.
