I don't think it's the proclivity of the far right. The general understanding of religions, geography and world affairs is pretty dire by the general populous. The news is limited to a few headlines followed by fluff.

Sure, I don't mean to say that to be ignorant means one is hard-rightwing - but that to be hard-rightwing does mean that one would be ignorant ;)

New York (CNN) -- As many as five people were shot Friday in front of the Empire State Building in New York, a spokesman for the New York Fire Department said.

Authorities converged on the building around 9 a.m. after reports of gunfire.

Additional details were not immediately available.

I'm sure this will only fuel the conspiracy nuts who claim Obama is staging these recent shootings to manipulate gun control laws.

That is one fvcked up conspiracy theory, not even Zingari and El Empty would believe that, it is hardly like they have only just started under Obama.

Although if you think that is ****ed up how about this, I stumbled across a website, ShootingUsa.com, they give away guns as prizes in their monthly competition!!! You can't give guns as prizes!!!

I saw Megadeth support AC/DC once, they were rubbish and Dave Mustaine wore flesh coloured tights and a leather jacket. From a distance he looked as if he was playing half naked.

The NYC shootings started right next to Legends bar, home of The Football Factory and the gracious hosts of the New York Foxes. I've heard second-hand that everyone there is OK, but I'm waiting for more information.

The Chicago shootings were gang violence gone over the edge, and the NYC shooting was one man that appears to have lost his mind after a workplace dispute, but there is still one common denominator in these awful incidents...

Mayor Bloomberg says some of the injured may have been accidentally shot by police officers

A man who had been fired from his job about a year or so ago. One dead, at least nine others shot. Some may have been shot accidentally by police officers.

All of those are not seriously wounded and there's no expectation that any of them will do anything other but recover quickly.

There's no doubt that the situation would have been more tragic but for some extraordinary acts of heroism.

Oh dear.
