The Darts

Recommended Posts

Mighty Mike is playing out of his skin here. So is Taylor, mind. High, high quality. Both averaging over 105 and rarely missing doubles.

MvG 6-4 up at the break, even The Power can't cope with his scoring!

Barney was on top form today. Playing like that he could be a contender in this. MvG clearly the favourite going into the quarters but I wouldn't like to call it. Gonna be some great stuff over the weekend.

Think if you asked any Darts fans watching today, despite two Englishman in the Semis, fans would simply say they want a Barney v MVG final.

We have one of the two in the final already, and the way Van Gerwen is playing he should wipe the floor with Winstanley, even though I really like Winstanley he is just not good enough.

Would be nice to see Barney win the tournament, but will have to go with MVG absolute joy to watch.

Great darts from Barney in the final. He kept it up all the way.

Happy for Barney. It was pretty emotional at the end there. Gorra lorra love for that man! His semi and final performances were excellent.

Lost my betting stack on this match though so am feeling a bit like this :

Flippin Dev.

Gerwen didn't play as well as he has throughout the tournament - about 8 times he started a leg with under 60 - but Barney was on top form.

Hopefully Barney keeps up this form for the world championship and into next year.

Cracking final just what we wanted.

Really good to see Barney playing well again, MVG gave it his all but he will be back, shoe in for the latter rounds of the World Championships.

World Championships should be a cracker, the likes of Lewis, Whitlock and Jenkins should play much better than they did at the Grand Slam, the likes of Pipe and Chisnall who we didn't see this week will be dangerous.

Cannot wait.

According to sky sports, Hankey suffered a mini stroke during his demolition by MvG the other week.

Out of action for the forseeable future.

Very interesting that, no World Championships for him then.

4-5 seeds need to be announced, while another nine qualifiers need to be decided.

Looking at the rankings and money, it seems some good names won't qualify this year, like Jelle Klaasen, Mark Dudbridge and Roland Scholten.
