It's quite worrying we might be that financially fcuked we have to accept this.

I can see it from both sides.

On one hand, getting more money for a player two years older than when we bought him, who has one year left on his contract, is generally a positive. Keepers don't tend to go for that much either. I would also say his dad's statement the other day was put out with a move in mind and you can't blame him for wanting to get to the Prem. It wasn't his fault we didn't get there this season. The other thing of course is whether we need the money.

On the other hand, clubs are in a stronger position when they have good keepers because you can only have one established number one at each club so there won't be many clubs who will need/want him even if the whole world rated him. If we keep our asking price high then Hull will presumably just pick Stockdale/McGregor/someone else. If we stick at 4million or whatever then we probably keep him.

I do think some people have started to take it for granted that we keep hold of anyone we want to keep hold of. Sometimes this isn't always the best idea. There have been plenty of players we've been desperate to keep hold of and then very soon after we've been desperate to get rid of them. Can't see that happening with Kasper but worth bearing in mind, especially from a financial point of view. If we do need the cash then we won't get anything like this sort of fee for him (or many others) after this summer.

But how many times have we had to sell players we didn't want to over the past few years? Since Heskey even, there haven't been many. We've either had rubbish nobody wants or had the money to give them better contracts.

It's generally a good thing that clubs want our players, and probably also a good thing if we don't whack anyone who gets any interest on a massive contract. That's why we're stuck with Wellens, Gallagher et al presumably.

I think we would accept £3m, and although I would be sad to see him go I think this would represent decent business for all parties.

I don't have a crystal ball, but I don't think we'll sell Kasper - even if it is £2/3/4 million.

I think the main priority, if Kasper stays, is that LCFC should negotiate with him to trim his wages down (of course to a level that Kasper is content with).

Yep, maybe he'd play for peanuts ;-). I'm sure he's gonna negotiate less money on a new contract after being one of our best players last season and continue playing in the championship when other offers are on the table, that makes sense.

So hull try to quite simply bum raid us by pricing us, specifically, out of a few of their players and then they expect to take the best goalkeeper in the Championship for last season for sweet sod all!??

If I was nige I send a cheeky fax of my backside in response to that measly "bid"

i think we should let him go.

kasper made some tremendous saves last season and saved us points but looking at the big picture (how much we could get in fee, how much would be off the wage bill, great shot stopper but lacking in other areas) i think it makes sense for him to go would benefit the club.

West Midlands now...

You can't expect the Daily Fail to do any research before publishing! That kinda thing takes time and some semblance of intelligence

It's £3.5 plus add ons, could raise to nearly £5, basically were taking Hull for a ride, but at the same time selling him for the RIGHT price wil benefit us greatly!
